The fact that they're listed as different weapons leads me to believe that you need to buy exotic weapon proficiency for each one if you want to use it.

What kind of forests have we been trekking through during our adventure?

You've been trekking through temperate forests iirc. In all likely hood, unless you can give me a good reason otherwise animals will not appear outside of their native habitat.

I really don't think it makes sense for just miniaturized weapons. The whip and scorpion whip are much less similar, yet they both count under the same feat.

Scorpion whip is a whip with a blade on the end instead of a knot of leather, IIRC. Fairly similar.

Seems like it was spikes all along the whip...

 

But looking things up, apparently a real-life Sica is very different from a Shotel. I suppose it doesn't matter, I don't get Weapon Finesse on one handed weapons anyways.

 

I do want to know if they can count as Daggers for concealment though. :twss:

Nex the best way I can think to describe it is this. You're fairly proficient with throwing axes correct? Well try throwing a much larger ax the same way you use a throwing ax. It's the same thing in a larger size but requires completely different use.

You're right, Grim, now that I think on it. A full-steel throwing axe is much different than a tomahawk with a wooden haft, despite any similarities in shape.

 

Moving on. Should I switch out the Hand Crossbows, and should I keep the Spiked Chain or the Bladed Scarf? I'm starting to wonder exactly how I'll wear four scarves at once, I already do damage against grappling opponents, and the Spiked Chain does more damage. Alternatively, I'd take suggestions for any other Martial or Exotic weapon that's either double, light, or usable with Weapon Finesse.

Well as a rogue, it might be preferable to have the scarf, because there is no way that you'll be able to conceal the spiked chain.

If ross and icu can make it I would be willing to run a very short session.

No way to conceal my bastard of an Heirloom Weapon, either. :D

 

And you don't think wearing several scarves at a time will- Wait! I know! I'll set the Bladed Scarf against the Reinforced Scarf, where it won't do any damage, wrap that around my shoulders as a sort of, wear the pockets as another layer, then wrap the normal scarf around my neck and face. Brilliant!

 

But I can conceal the Spiked Chain as well, it's not as if you can't case it in leather and use it as a belt. Choices, choices...

 

The real question here, though, is whether to keep the Hand Crossbows. They might be useful, but would a different sort be better?

As a general warning, I'm allowing some modification of characters right now which will stop once you hit level 3.

Since we have more casters in the party, I am considering switching around to a ranger. It would make me lose my spells progression, but everything else would be the same (aside from the lack of wild shaping, which I don't really need).

 

That and I've never played a righteous character before, so I will try that.

Also, I am debating whether or not to multiclass into artificer. On one hand, I really like the artificer as a concept, and it fits my character really well. It also means I get craft skills, and I'd like to use craft skills in this campaign, but on the other side of the equation, I need to take alchemist levels to keep my bomb damage output up.
