used a larger pencil tool for the shadows. didn't use opacities, tried to follow "pixel rules".

My graphics tablet died. I miss the days of speed painting :(

Hey, quick question is panter IX I believe a free download?

No, it's a pretty expensive buy actually. You can get something like OpenCanvas or even Photoshop Elements, though, which are both good. OpenCanvas is supposedly free.. tttia might know where to get it free, all I've been able to find is a 30-day trial. :?:

Hmm, I recently recieved a Tablet as a gift for some astranged reason and mine came with Corel and Photoshop Elements but I have just been using it in Adobe CS. Is there any real advantage when using the Tablet with Corel or Elements?

I was hosting it, but tip won't let me put a link, security issues I assume.

Try this program. I think it is more full featured than open canvas, and is free.

er double.

Yes, that is a fantastic program for paintings.

Well, it's your own choice, the program used to digipaint is really just as subjective as the techniques involved.

For one thing, though, Elements is just a limited version of Photoshop CS. If you had to choose between the two, CS is definitely the better choice.

As for Corel, if you're talking about Photopaint then don't bother with it, but if you've got Corep Painter, it's well worth a try. It's right up there with Photoshop, if not better for digital paintings and illustrations.

What tablet did you get? Intuos? Graphire?

Does this offer the nifty networked canvas feature aswell?

Good horse attempt jabraulter.

Well I'm trying ;) I can't even remember what I even started with. I hope to be as good as you and some of the other painters like venomai someday.

Some nice stuff everyone :D

I did this a few nights ago after lurking around and seeing this thread. I used a small frog figurine as my muse, and used Paint Shop Pro 9. I admit it's not a great job since I have not used Paint Shop Pro 9 for a long time and have not often used it. I have edited the size, it's actual size is 900 x 900 pixels. This took about 1.5 hours to do, at the one hour mark, I had not done the legs yet or cleaned the outline of the frog.

Here is today's work. More than one hour I am afraid.

Done in Paintshop Pro. Just got it for work and thought I would see how it paints. I like it so far.

Eyelash curler!.. Girls' best friend (one of them at least xD). This was a relatively quick sketch on Paint Shop Pro 9.. About 12 minutes or so. The perspective is a little messed up. This is resized; the original canvas size is 1050 x 525 pixels.

Yeah, I know, I posted this already in its own thread, but I am trying to keep track of these things. It is easier to find them when this thread is closer to the top.
