  1. Two weeks ago I went to see Jarhead and Derailed on the same day. Despite the bad reviews, Derailed was actually okay. The beginning was fairly slow though. Jarhead, was interesting, enjoyable and funny. It was slow almost the whole way through, but that was part of the point. Admittedly, I was only interested at first because Jake Gyllanhaal was acting in it and Sam Mendes was directing, but not counting the more grusome scenes (I covered my eyes), I lived up to its good reviews.
  2. I wouldn't force it through. I'd probably ask your chemist whether you run the risk of getting an infection if you did. My friend has her cartilage pierced, and it formed a huge growth after it got infected - very strange.
  3. Literally laughed out loud at that. 14 year old boys, like my brother don't seem to find it a huge deal and apparently it's almost a sport to fart in you're friends' faces. On the other hand, I find it repulsive when people fart conspicuously (okay, I know it's just the natural processes of the body, but it's still disgusting). I really want to know how that girl reacted after that farting incident.
  4. [garden tool] [garden tool]! I'm funny... *runs away* Add this one to the list: People who think they're witty when they're not. (:
  5. Current favorites at the moment: The Hands That Built America - U2 Soul Meets Body - Death Cab for Cutie
  6. I've got so many, here are some (not in any particular order): 1. Brokeback Mountain 2. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (does this count as three movies? Ah well.) 3. The Truman Show 4. Mask (the one with Cher in it, not Jim Carrey) 5. Jackie Brown 6. Moulin Rouge 7. American Beauty 8. Forrest Gump 9. Pulp Fiction 10. The Princess Bride
  7. I highly dislike people without common curtesy (i.e. lacking in the "thank yous" and "pleases" in their vocabulary). Other things that irritate me include dishonesty and people who make the tiniest thing into a huge issue (don't get me started on this one!).
  8. One of my favorite topics! My favorite foods have to be Napolitana or Arribiata (sp?) pasta, tofu, smoked salmon, Thai curry and almost anything else that's chilli. I'm quite a picky eater so I don't eat meats (besides some varieties of fish), any fungi and a few types of vegetables (eggplant eww..).
  9. Yeah, I agree it is sometimes incredibly difficult to read some peoples' posts due to spelling/grammar errors, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that every time I do attempt to read one I associate it with the urge of jumping off a building.
  10. I'm definately for the auto-logout. If you're doing nothing and just standing still (in most cases), you might as well log out; it's not that hard to log back in anyway. The auto-logout is handy for people who may go on computers shared among many people; it prevents others from using your character without knowing etc.
  11. J-pop, J-rock - despise the stuff. My dad is so into Japanese music, but it doesn't interest me. I just want to know how all the Japanese female singers all manage to have such similar (high) pitched voices.
  12. Yeah, I guess I am biased about clothing. I will buy "good" brands, but usually only because they are better designed and better made. The only concrete brand purchases of mine are Sass and Bide jeans, only because I love their designs and they fit me well.
  13. I tell my parents straight out and express my (genuine) disappointment in myself when I do get a really low mark. Recently, I got 70% in my English assessment but much to my surprise, I was ranked 19th out of 64. I told my parents the bad news, and then the good news so I'm sure they had mixed feelings about the result.
  14. It's one of those few comedy series that have interesting storylines and laugh out loud humour.

    Lost

I am obsessed with Lost! I can't wait 'til Feb 2 when Season 2 starts here 8)
  16. Couldn't be bothered reading the article, but I'm guessing it's another ploy for the government to reap in more money rather than an idea derived from good intentions. The tax could help benefit overall, but the extremity of the rate in tax makes me feel that if this proposal does go through, it would encourage more illigal pirated imports from China and creating more problems than it intended to solve.
  17. I don't know whether you've made up with your parents yet, but if your attitude is a reoccurring problem with your parents, apologising isn't enough, talk to your parents about why you have such an attitude and what catalyses it when both you and they are in a good mood. Let them understand you more, I think that's what most parents really need from their teenage kids. With your friend, sometimes people just grow apart and that's just life. The longevity of my "best friends forever" relationships are usually short because of this reason. People change, but maybe your friend doesn't know the effect she's having on you, tell her how you're feeling (you don't have to be good with words with this) see her response. The worst thing you can do is force her to still be on "best friend" terms with you when she doesn't want to. Maybe when you've patched things up with your parents you can sub them in as your best friends and tell them (almost) everything. It may seem like a silly idea, but it benefits both sides - they'll trust you more (since they know you can trust them) and in return may give you more freedom to do more things independently.
  18. I was going to say U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers as well. I think Maddona's had a good run, though not a band.
  19. Recently purchased "Oh, Inverted World" by The Shins. Excellent album, the only song I'm a little 'iffy' about is Your Algebra.
  20. Yesterday I watched the superb "Brokeback Mountain". I probably could have enjoyed it even more if it hadn't been for immature, annoying 13 year olds talking loudly and laughing (at inappropriate times) throughout the course of the film. Every aspect of the film is done exceptionally, the only slight criticism I have would be the simple and repetitive score, but this is a contribution to the mood and does work beautifully with the Brokback mountain backdrop. Another great film directed by Ang Lee - I already want to see it again!
  21. I adore music from decades ago. Some of my favorite bands/singers would have to be The Doors, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and John Denver.
  22. I find it incredibly disturbing the amount of people that say "noob" or other internet terms/acronyms like "LOL". Sadly enough I do know people that incorporate these expressions in real life ;-;
  23. tttia: Great portrait! Here's something within the one hour time frame 8) Eyelash curler!.. Girls' best friend (one of them at least xD). This was a relatively quick sketch on Paint Shop Pro 9.. About 12 minutes or so. The perspective is a little messed up. This is resized; the original canvas size is 1050 x 525 pixels.
  24. "Noob" slaughtering is an idea that's a bit overused. Not a particularly funny comic either
  25. I use Flash to do my animating, and then convert it into a .GIF animation.
