squidsquash
SO I have decided that fishing is my favourite skill, also my favourite cape, so I have decided to take the plunge and achieve my first 99. My current level is 75, so I know it will take me awhile but I am wondering what the fastest (not the best) method is. I am thinking of just doing barb heavy rod fishing and using a knife on the fish I catch so I can get cook exp/ more bait. Is this the best way? Is there a faster way? Thanks in advance. Dax
To make it faster, don't cut. It'd would be a lot easier in the long run just to get Fishing now, then do Cooking later on. Cutting's way too boring, anyway, just adds to the boredom that is Fishing. ;o #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

I don't plan on 99ing cook anyways so this isnt a bid deal :P Any idea/guesstimations how many feathers I will need?

Also you can use mousekeys to drop much faster refer to this guide if you have not used mousekeys before: http://forum.tip.it/topic/214703-wakkas-mousekeys-guide-learn-to-drop-twice-as-fast/ or you can find it by going to the archive of wisdom
amitoz
I did Shilo for my 18m+ fish xp (Second account). Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price. squidsquash
I'm starting to consider Shilo right now. Is the money gained worth the slower exp? Does anyone know the rates heavy rod fishing and Shilo? I heard barb heavy rod is 50k~ an hour...
Gandorf61
As soon as you can fish cavefish, switch to them, and then when you reach level 90 switch to rocktail. They're good xp and are easy to multitask with. For earlier I think Barbarian fishing is the fastest but I never fished their so I can't really offer any advice about that. I just went for monkfish for most of my levels due to being more profit and needing less attention. Pyramid Plunder Guide Tip.it Forum Rules Adventurer's LogThanks to Cowboy14 for the awesome sig! egyptqueen1
Depends on if you want money or not. Sharks = slowestRocktail = eh (bout the same as lobs speed wise in my opinion)Shilo (Trout and Salmon) = fastest Personally i did sharks to 93 then got sick of fishing and 93-99 was at Shilo lol. But it's all personal preference. if you want speed go with shilo.
Aten
If you only care about speed, barbarian fishing is far and away the fastest. Don't bother cutting the fish, just use mousekeys to drop (as mentioned above). This works out to about 60k/hr. To give you an idea of how many feathers it'll take, I believe I used 150k between 85 and 99 (may have been 87). Quyneax
Barbarian fishing is the fastest, be sure to use urns all the way. Shilo is exactly the same but slower, no agility and no strength xp, so I wouldn't bother. squidsquash
OK thanks for the help guys, one last quick question; Would it be worth it to hunt down penguins every week or just stick to fishing?
Nifflin
Yes, but I wouldn't use them on fishing. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.
Th e Doctor
Peng points should be used on expensive skills like herblore/prayer, or dungeoneering until you hit lvl 50. Don't use them on fishing. Also as barb fishing you can low alch the fish instead of dropping them without interrupting fishing, similar to superheating con gold in LRC. Much more relaxed than the drop method although it is slightly more expensive / gives minor mage exp. highlanders
Break it down into smaller goals, first go for 80, then 85, and if you can do it then aim for 99. If you try going for 99 immediately you'll probably crash and burn. When you can fish them, rocktails are nice, 95-98 got me about 10m. I don't understand why people would bother doing something as tedious as barb fishing just for a tiny bit more xp. 2480+ total
