Overloads

I just got 94 Herblore so I can make Overloads a lot more reliably now.

I just want to know a few things about using them.

- How often do the tick to boost your stats?

- Is this the full boost (i.e. +26)?

- Should you always use the Berserker curse when using an Overload?

- What is the correct method of brewing with them to avoid stat loss?

- Anything else handy/important to know regarding Overloads?

Thanks.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

- Every fifteen seconds.

- I don't believe so, but could be wrong.

- About 2-3 seconds before the stat restore.

- Berserker curse doesn't work on overloads.

Other things to note: when your five minutes is about to be up, don't bother soul splitting, eating, brewing, etc past 490 LP, 'cause you'll want to take advantage of the 500 LP restore.

EEE works as a great ovl timer.

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM that's all I can think of.

Also when bossing if you go into the house options setting your ovl timer pauses. Yesterday Draz managed to get 7 mins per ovl dose at Zam.

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

2672nd person to reach 2496 total.
Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D

When I was corping with a few friends, I found it easy to just brew and look when stats go up, and start tapping my foot. Every 15 seconds to get reboosted.

I prefer foot tapping over a stopwatch because it is harder to reset the stopwatch and pause it wheneverI activate house options :P

What is "the tick" he's talking about? I thought ovls were just as simple as a dose of every extreme and every 1 minute you went down a lvl (5 mins later you're at lvl 120 everything and it tells you the effects wore off).

the reboosting tick.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

So... is there a time gap in which you're supposed to reboost or what?

You get booster to 125 in melees and the max in mage/range every 15 seconds, so for example every minute boosted stats reduce by 1, the ovl boost will kick back in and you will be boosted again to max.

Worth noting that you can take 2 doses of brew per tick- any more than that and you'll have to drink a dose or restore afterwards, or else your stats will still be below 125 when the reboost happens.

During battle, if you're using a weapon with the same speed as a whip/rapier/zamorakian spear/etc., between each 15 second interval you can land about 6 hits. So if you're against a boss such as graar and you only need 2 doses of brew, try to drink on the 5th hit and you'll be boosted back to full within 1 hit.

15 seconds is 25 ticks which is 5 longsword hits or 6.25 rapier hits or 4.16 Graardor hits etc. Guess that's another advantage of using cls :P.

Actually i've found that the biggest advantage of the cls is not having to get two for banking proposes. I hate constantly having to take my rapier from random tabs.

First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.

First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.

First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was always under the impression that Overloads were affected by the Berserker curse; guess not then.

Time to start churning them out slowly.

He means that he doesn't need a second cls as a placeholder, because he never takes it out of the bank anyway.
