I'm conducting research on Runescape music as a personal project (I'm a musician in real life).

I just need a few statistics so if you could indulge me for 20 seconds and answer this question by checking the appropriate boxes... it would be greatly appreciated.

Please note, answers given will be compiled in a report and presented to Jagex audio developers.

Well I listened to the music after studying music theory for 2-3 years and some of it's actually pretty good. I definitely wouldn't say it's written poorly. But I still listen to my own music :P

I voted.

I rarely listen to RS music now. I usually play RS with music like Eric Clapton, Blind Guardian, Jimi, Zep, etc etc.

RS music is good though imo.

III - (OPTIONAL) WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE TRACKS?

A: Only track I ever listen to is "Black Zabeth" from last year's halloween event.

It's an insult to the real Black Sabbath, but it's catchy.

I listen to "Wander", "Dream", and basically all of the soothing, calm, relaxing tracks. "Fishing" is another one.

I don't think it's written poorly, just that the music is kind of dull and makes me want to sleep even more than i already do when grinding.

My favorite one is : Scape Original.

When dungeoneering with a team: music on, always. It makes the atmosphere more intense which adds to gameplay.

When skilling it's a toss up between music on and mute. Doesn't really matter to me.

I think Runescape music has gotten better as time goes along.

I only listen to music when doing new quests... thats it.

I stoped listening to music when they changed from using pure-midis to using sampled sounds to make it sound more uniform.

I still have an archive of about 200 midis from the game. I can upload it you want, it is about 13mb including everything up to the music change.

I never play with RS music on, I simply just don't care for the ambiance that it creates. I prefer my own music, I listen to online streaming radio.

The Dungeoneering tunes are good, especially the ones from deeper in.

I don't actively change tracks though, just listen to whatever plays.

And I'm like the only vote in the first category <_<

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Hardly or Never (<20%)

I play Runescape with my own music

When I first started playing Runescape, I listened to the music more often than I do now

Pretty much. I no longer listen to RS music unless I totally have no idea what else I could use. None of that is worth listening to constantly - a few tracks are good enough initially but they all lose their novelty pretty soon. Before I really started using other music I used to have a playlist of my favourite RS musics set up in the game. By the end, I got sick of every single one of them.

You're being watched.

i like rs music, but i dont listen to it much. why? because, quite frankly, ive heard it all before. you can only hear the same tracks so many times. when they added area music it got better, but its still annoying. i will however, listen to the music when a new track comes out. when im training, i usualy listen to pandora radio. pandora rocks.

oh, and fav rs track: undercurrent. upbeat and catchy. do do do do do, do-do. do do do do do, do-do. dodododo...dooot doot.

I always feel as if I should listen to the music on RS. But I never last more than 10 minutes without getting itunes up instead.

"Imagine yourself surrounded by the most horrible cripples and maniacs it is possible to conceive, and you may understand a little of my feelings with these grotesque caricatures of humanity about me."

- H.G. Wells, The Island of Doctor Moreau

I listen to it all the time.

Probably because I don't have anything else to listen to now.

I listen to my own music, bar when I do new quests, I like to hear the new stuff. And I used to always listen to the game stuff back in the day.

Any other answer is wrong.
