Hi I recently got the tzhaar task and I decided to do it because I need the cape. Now I've tried plenty of times, but they were all range and I didn't have any luck with them. I have seen people talking about meleeing it and being alot faster is this true, also is it easier and do any of you know a guide or something to help me out.

Melee is faster, but not easier.

Have 3 Extreme Pure Sets, 6 brews, 3 Restores, and Rest P Pots, EE/EEE/Claws.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

If you're only having problems with Jad, use Ancient curses and simply kill Jad with deflect prayers. Pretty much every reliable method of killing Jad requires prayer switching. Melee actually requires more prayer switching since you constantly need to pray against melee attacks too. However, if Jad is killed solely with deflect prayers, healers will not be summoned, making the fight simpler.

Actually, there's always brute forcing him - charge in with 2 claw specs, switch to a rapier or something afterwards, with maxed melee/turm/ext pot boosts, etc. Dunno much about it, just presenting it as another option - I'd personally recommend deflecting over it.

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

This works, but it's a bit risky. Less risky would be to take Jad down to ~51% health (2550 lp, so that's around 1300 lp left, 1400-1500 to be sure the healers don't come before you charge) which you can pretty reliably hit with claw - veng - claw - veng.

 

You need 3 overloads or extreme pure sets, 4 brew, 2 restore, rest ppots. A special weapon is nice too but I wouldn't bother with anything but claws and excalibur.

This. I could not beat Jad because I would always get mixed up with prayers while trying to get the healers on me. I found out about this method, and nailed it on my first try. Definitely worth considering if it's Jad's healers that mess you up.

I did it yesterday for my first fire cape, and jad took about 3-4 minutes.

 

I was planning on doing jad regularly with ccbow + diamond bolts, but I only brought 2 brews (lol) and didn't have enough to tank the healers. So I took him down to 2/3 health and deflected him to death. Messed up twice but I got lucky and got hit a 28 and 555.

Sorry to hijack, but for the deflect method would it be a good idea to lower your defense (Or at least not raise it) so that the deflect damage happens more often?

Sorry to hijack, but for the deflect method would it be a good idea to lower your defense (Or at least not raise it) so that the deflect damage happens more often?

 

 

I assumed it was a good idea, and I figured a good prayer bonus would be good too. I figured prossy plate and legs would work pretty well for covering both of those areas (relatively low defense stats on it, and a good prayer boost). Worked quite well, though if you mess up a switch with low defense like that, expect to get hit HARD (what am I saying, this is Jad we're talking about, always expect to get hit hard if you mess up lol).

Alright thanks, though I won't expect to get hit harder if (Read: when) I mess up, just more often since defense only heightens the chance you'll get hit, not reduce the damage.
