January 5, 200620 yr Yeah, I know their xp isn't as great as natures and laws, but besides that, by the way things are looking (at least for now), it seems like cosmics at level 59 runecrafting might make the most money (excluding the obvious 91-rc). From today's new update, people are now paying 225-250 for cosmics. A level 59 runecrafter now at the doubling rates can make 450-500gp per essence, monetarily beating out natures and laws. I'm not sure by how much, because it seems both, or at least natures have gone up a little bit because of the update also. But anyways, the question is, is this gp boost worth the extra 100+ gp per essence given the xp loss? Also discuss the rising prices for runes because of the update, and how long you think that the boosts will last. I think if cosmics remain good xp now (from what I've heard out of the 4 games they give the best xp and are somewhat cheap), then they might not go back down in price.
January 5, 200620 yr I just found some one that was really desperate and I sold him my dusty 1k Cosmics that I've had since classic for 500 each.
January 5, 200620 yr sounds interesting. atm i think this is all hype, just as other updates. eventually (just like farming), this will probably die down, or die completely. R.I.P. Shiva
January 5, 200620 yr yea, i was thinking about it too, but I'm going to wait a while before I craft cosmics to get 99 mage or something, because you know Jagex, they enjoy messing things up
January 5, 200620 yr Beat you to it, altho i didnt make a thread about it :P Yeah, a less recognised bonus is that anyone with 54 rc or above can make ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã14k a run now before you consider pouches, far more than they could in the past running nats (28*300 being only ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã8.4 a run). As long as cosmics stay at 250 ea that is! Personally i think it's unsustainable and they'l drop down to about 200ish - everyone's going to want t osell them soon. 54 rc? 59? Whatever! In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

Ugh. *(Has 54 rc :( ) I think the determining factor though will be if this enchanting room does end up being very good xp, assuming jagex doesn't further decrease its xp.
January 5, 200620 yr you could sell cosmics for 300 ea yesterday and now that i made 5k of them they seemed to go only for 200 ea. this sucks. apparently i wasn't the only one to realize the benefits of 59rc with cosmics as there were other ppl making cosmos too. pm if u want to buy 3k cosmics for 250 ea. Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.

Are you positive? I don't remember there being any demand for mass cosmics before, or them costing as much as nature runes do. I see no reason that out of all things, this update would make them go down. From what I heard, it made them in huge demand and jumped their prices.
January 5, 200620 yr The fact is that the shop price is a massive force pulling against price rise, and the ease of making good money at far lower levels than double nats (and lots more money than single nats) suggests there will be a reasonable supply of people keep to cash in. Add to this the fact that from now demand is unlikely to increase after this initial mad rush, and i can only see prices falling. Atm the forums seems to be a mad clash after a big rush of buyers early on, and an influx of high price sellers afterwards. I can't see prices staying above 200, and in fact i think they might even fall to around 160-180, slightly more money than nats to run double but tempered by less exp. you could sell cosmics for 300 ea yesterday and now that i made 5k of them they seemed to go only for 200 ea. this sucks. apparently i wasn't the only one to realize the benefits of 59rc with cosmics as there were other ppl making cosmos too. pm if u want to buy 3k cosmics for 250 ea. Cosmics have been around 100 for a very long time. Perhaps to idiots you could sell 300 ea, but not as a general rule. Unless you're in Australia or something and by yesterday you mean just after the update ;) In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"
January 5, 200620 yr Whatever happens to prices is not important to some people because they like getting exp, or just like crafting their own runes and not buying them at all. EDIT- I just hope the price of rune essence doesn't rise because then there is less profit in alching and what not.
January 5, 200620 yr I think the real winner here is the Mud staff, lets see, Holding a mud staff and a bunch of Cosmics, per enchant, you get 78 exp (When doing level 5 enchant) With the thousands of points needed for items, if 1 was going to want to get them, they would almost certanly need a Mud staff, or atleast a Earth staff for level 4 enchant. And for those with high magic, I would assume when equiping a lava staff, they can do level 6 enchant for even more EXP, so I think that the enchanters area may have a lot of people around.
January 5, 200620 yr Onyx enchant is really amazing exp down there. If ur going there for mage exp, thats the place to be. Lavas are like 50k each, as opposed to muds, which are 5m each. Better exp with a cheaper investment. If you're going there for just for exp, that is the place to be. However, I definitely want the new items. Even if they ARENT too great stat wise, they LOOK amazing. And yes, the general price of cosmics has REALLY jumped because of this update. And it is way more worth it to craft cosmics. (economically) This price hike will last untill 90% of the RS population gives up on the robes. BTW, I wouldn't count on buying the robes from people: 1. The tradeability MIGHT be a programming mistake. 2. Anyone who went through enough to get a set of robes will most likely want to hang on to them. Need assistance in any of these skills? PM me in game, my private chat is always ON
January 5, 200620 yr I think the real winner here is the Mud staff, lets see, Holding a mud staff and a bunch of Cosmics, per enchant, you get 78 exp (When doing level 5 enchant) that, or lava staff + 1cosmic for Level-6 Enchant  i got to 4000 enchantment point just now haha.. good god I bought 5k cosmics when they were ~50 each "Y2kadrian" a.k.a. "Baby Ady" 138 Combat, 99 Herblore, Farming, Crafting, Slayer, Summoning, etc Playing since 2001.
January 5, 200620 yr yes. very, VERY annoying imo. im 92 rc, and right now ppl who put in a hundredth of the effort are reaping the same rewards. kinda gets me PO'd
January 5, 200620 yr The thing is, enchanting jewelry has always been VERY good xp. considering the low price of cosmics. The problem was, nobody could ever really get enough jewelry to make it a practical way of training magic. Now that you can cast it on these things, in this room, of course the price of cosmics is going to go up. If you don't minf a bit of extra work having to pick the things up off the floor, then enchanting those things into orbs is now the least costly way to train mage. (That is, if cosmics stay at 200-250 ea.) Hell, for people who already have high mage ... I'm not entirely sure, but I THINK enchant lvl-6 jewelry gives more xp. than Tele-other Camelot. And all you would need is a lava staff and lots of cosmics. It would be extremely cheap to get 99 mage from 87 if you were using enchant lvl-6 on those orb thingies. Well ... not "extremely cheap", but still much, much cheaper than Tele-others or Curse spells. EDIT: I think the real issue is, Jagex doesn't take the time to consider things like this when they put in an update like the one they did this morning. EDIT: Wow. I'm at barrows, and it just took me *19* fire waves to take down Verac, in full mystic! That [bleep] just did not want to die! EDIT: WWOOWW!! The tip.it censor is SO much better than the Jagex censor!! Instead of converting that profanity to asteriks, it turned the B-Word into "wonderful person"! In fact, I am about to let loose a string of profanity, just to see what happens. [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] bastard [bleep] [bleep] [bleep]. Oh yeah. That's right.

January 5, 200620 yr Updates are supposed to be fun, and i think that this one gives just that, many people might not like the raise in prices, but those who have worked hard should either have the money or have the rc lvl to be able to make them. This update creates a way to train mage, and have fun while doing it. So what if some prices go up, i just myself made myself 2k cosmics and am having a wonderful time. Combat Level 50 with "Five Skills Capes" Mining, Cooking, Firemaking, Fletching and Woodcutting Over 75 Million EXP!!!!
January 5, 200620 yr aww man, only a week ago i had trained my runecraft to 44 with making cosmics. i had 5k of the darn things! and now u guys tell me i couldve sold them for like 300 each! >:-( and yes, go ahead and call me a poor noob, but that difference is a LOT of money to me.
January 5, 200620 yr Thats what I was thinking. As I was doing echant arena everybody agreed. A good use for all those stored up cosmics:D. Even making 1 cosmic you can still make money. Now just to get to 27 RC. well today at 11:30 am 14 years ago i was born.. wo0t!!!At 11:30 you should start holding your head underwater wo0t!!!Stop acting such a moron.
January 5, 200620 yr sold 3k cosmics yesterday :( ^^ click my sig for my lesser ranging guide ^^jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined

Umm, no I remeber when I actually needed cosmics I bought for 50 each lol. check the official forums and see what ppl pay at w2 duel arena. i can't be sure of the situation there now BUT like i said, that was yesterday and thanks to jagex i managed to cash in some gp from desparate ppl. now someone might say that it's immoral to do that but hey, if they are happy to pay that then it's not my problem is it. and propably when you needed your cosmics this update wasn't around. which as you would see if u had read the whole thread is the reason prices have gone up temporarily with cosmics. Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.
January 5, 200620 yr Prices are gonna drops soon, i think. I'm making my own cosmic right now and there are like 10 people doing the same. Now if only half of them is gonna sell i think that will be more than enough to cover the demand. P.S. I was walking away from the cosic altar when a tree said Baa!. I got scared a bit (kind of embarasing to admit it), and was waiting for something to happen, and a sheep walks away from behind the tree. Boy was i enlightened, thinking just a second ago that trees had gone bad o.O 18/22 skills at or better than 60.1300+ skill total.Barrows:Torag's Helm x2, Guthan's Helm, Guthan's Warspear, Dharok's Greataxe, died to dharok, Guthan's Platebody, Ahrim's Hood. All in a total of 104 runs.
January 5, 200620 yr My prediction is that Cosmics are going to go down to the sub-100 range again in a month, maybe two.. if not, it will be a big surprise to me
January 5, 200620 yr Ill just Edit this in : When collecting graveyard points, I found it much easier, that when i got to around 8 HP, to leave the area, make a quick run down to the Healer NPC's in the Duel Arena, and run back up, its much easier than taking your own food or trying to eat bananas. I'd completely forgot about the healers! This will be much easier than repeatedly trying to eat bananas in the graveyard challenge to recover hits...
