Best possible cooking xp?

Featured Replies

Alright, so i am trying to find the best possible cooking xp possible for F2P. Would it be Salmon, Lobster, or Swordfish? Or is there something better? (Besides cake and such..)

Wine

How much money do you lose off of wine though? Just curious.

Wine is 2.5 gp/exp

Swordfish are .30gp/exp

Lobsters are .23gp/exp

That being said wine is still best because it is so much faster then swordfish or lobster.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

Yeah, but with Wine, i lose around 22m if I buy the grapes. I lose a lot less with swordfish.

Wines are going to be fast but really expensive so unless your rolling in gp, don't consider them.

Swordfish are probably your best bet, if you buy/sell at the right times you might break even or make a small amount.

Whats the best place to cook in free to play though? I would assume varrock east or al-kharid.

im pretty sure it's just faster making your own fires as close to a bank as possible.

if you stand to the right most square of the draynor village bank - that should be the best spot?

of course, ranges are easier to afk on

swordfish are about 70 hours to 99 cooking

wines are about 20 hours to 99 cooking.

wines cost you 20 mil more.

The breakoff income of swordfish vs wines is 400k gp/hour?

that should be doable, even in f2p.

I feel like 50 hours of training cooking would be more of a grind than 50 hours of training cooking. F2P money making at least.

At least while training cooking he will always have gaining levels as a goal or incentive.

If I were you, I would do swordfish unless if you can make like 600K an hour, or can make money from merchanting. Merchanting is pretty lively.

Also with 22M he could be well on his way to 99 smithing, and smithing is about a 52 times cooler cape than cooking.

you fail to understand opportunity cost. How much of a "grind" something is is relative, the gp/xp+xp/hr are not.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

^ Everything has opp cost. But yeah, he can use the time saved to make the $ back.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

Settle down buddy. I said if he can make like 600k an hour then he should make money and do wine. If he just barely breaks even though then how much of a grind something in should be taken into account.

If it costs 20M more and takes 50 hours less, and he can only make 400k an hour then he doesn't benefit from doing wine at all. That is what I was saying.

Lumbridge top bank. There are 4 or so logs just outside it; carry a tinderbox in your inventory and make a fire that way.

Just throwing into the mix that, even though I have enough money to waste on wines, I can't easily make it back. I am only a level 3 skiller after all.

swordfish are about 70 hours to 99 cooking

wines are about 20 hours to 99 cooking.

There's seriously that much of a difference? I thought that Wine is no more than 2x faster than Swordfish, especially with Urns. (Assuming no burning or spoiling wine)

Do you know the XP rates?

I can do 1k wines in around a half hour, which turns into ~400k exp per hour.

Wines are 1 tick to make, or 8.4 seconds for an inventory + banking (deposit all, withdraw 14 twice, close bank). So you can do perhaps 14 wines in 15 seconds (25 ticks, of which 11 banking), which gives you 672k xp/hr. One wine is 200 xp, one swordfish 140 xp, you don't have to move between the furnace and bank (only like 2 spaces in the cooking guild, but still), and swords cook at 3 ticks each I think?

2k wines/hr, 400k xp/hr. Can be sustained for long periods of time.
