Alright, I'm an idiot right about now. So I thought I'd share, just to give people something to laugh at.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Spent the weekend selling a bunch of treasure trail stuff that I had, as well as all my skill-related merchandise and ended up with a little over 7 million. And then I found someone selling a whip for 3.4 mil and bought that. But I'm not 70 attack yet, so I'm training all today working on getting it up when I run out of food. Now I don't want to stop training because that will put me getting to 70 back a while longer. So I go to buy some lobbies. Found someone selling 1200 lobbies for 200 each. And this is where I became mentally challenged. For some reason I got an extra zero stuck in my head.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So instead of 240k, I spent 2.4mil on 1200 lobbies. 2000gp each lobbies.....:shock:

my stupidest thing was buying the common (750k) half shield on the day legends came out for practically all my bank worth (3k nats, mask set, couple mil) thinking that it was the rare half and i was getting a bargain.

Actually giving my pass to a girl who claimed to be Jagex staff's daughter and could get free membership for everyone. My friend was in on it...and i was so stupid I never realized. But back then I didn't nkow that you had to wait a few days for your membership to kick in. I almsot quit back then.

hmmm....maybe crafting deaths for barrows via abyss and then going to face dharok with a skull and all my best items.... :shock: . Thankfully I havent actually died yet with a skull...twice without lol...both my fault tryed to save a prayer pot :roll: . Only lost ~ 750k or so more of a mental lost.

got scammed out of rune full in a trade for dragon battle when it first came out. swapped it with a bronze battle.

Another time was paying 35k for big bones. He changed it to normal bones :x I was a complete idiot to do that. Now I know the point of the 2nd trade screen. :lol:

Going to Dagg Kings solo on high detail, using Zammy flames, and attracted prime near the end.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, Lag and can't see prayer points (you're on mage screen too much). Buh buy all my gains (got 5 rex kills, no good drops) and lotta blood runes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tried to go back and solo, went in with range prayer instead of mage prayer. Oops.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sure, 400k lost in runes. Made it back many times over later in that chamber, but that still ranks as my most idiotic.

there was this one time at band camp...

Bought 5k willow at 325 ea (1575k) when buying yew for my fletching 99.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also the times i've died with a red mask(there are 3 of em), the worst probably was the one during desert treasure, i went to kill the dude at the graveyard in morytania, tho i had no idea what prot i should use, so i turned melee prot on and... paniced.... and died. I had the same feeling for the large loss as i had when i got my 99 stats, heart bolting faster etc. rofl i got really excited.

spent the 1st week that i joined chopping and selling regular logs to the general store because those goblins were so stingy with the gp lol :oops:

Hm probably the sadest moment was when i got hacked. I was really really really sad i spend so many weeks of hard work on that. And probably the best moment was when a lvl 100 when I got a salyer assigment for kalphites i was about lvl 60 i used full addy and he was killin them with me. And then he went in and got poisoned he wouldn't die but i offered him antipoison for free then we talked some time why i'm using full addy too and i said im hacked and i think he thought i lie cuz he asked me few things so he can be sure i was and then he finished his assigment and said let me wait there and after about 10min he came back and traded and gave me full rune, mith boots and dragon mace i was so excited. I think this was the best moment in the game. Omg that's offtopic i think lol :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, I was very stupid cuz i bought for 750k all my money karils coif someone was sellin it for 750 and i thought oh yea! barrows item only 750k! I'll make big money off this and then i bought it went to fally market and bang ppl were sellin for 200k!!! I spent all my money this very sad too...

I was funning with a mate whose member ran off about the f2pscams, then i teled to edge where he was and we were funning out loud, no long on pm, they banned me for that, that's about 5 days ago.

I sold a ton of stuff back to the general store. When I got started, before I started cruising forums, I didn't realize people would pay 20 gp per log. I sold about 2000 logs to the shop, for the great deal I was getting... 2000 GP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That money would have gone a loooooong way when I was teh uber noob!

ok this is what happned to me...i use 7 days and make 10k nats was meant to high alch with em but sold them instead. then a few secs l8er i bought a whip... then i got on my rune pl8 rune legs and the whip and start watching fights in wildy above edge.i meet a guy at my lvl and he asks if i wanna watch him pk at lvl 13 altar. i said yes cause its always funny watching ppl...then when i get there with him we meet 2 lvl 90s the dude owns them and i clap for him... then the dude trades with me. he shows me 3 d schimmys and a mystic robe top he accepts and i do it too -.- i dident think about that d schimmys are worth more then whips...he killed me and i got 2 d schimmys and 1 mystic top back =( i was so dumb...

Ouch! Well at least I'm in good company. And if anyone is interested in any 2000gp ea lobsters....I got a few. :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I just wish I could have seen the guys face when he was looking at the trade screen and seeing that much money. I hope he doesn't suffer from any heart problems, that might have been too much excitement for him.

Back when I was 80ish combat, and whips were 7 mil, I fished 7k sharks and traded a hi lev friend for a shiny new whip. I was ecstatic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So off I go to own more trolls (my daily trainers..and still are) and being a broke cheapskate, I brought a fire staff and nats to alch all the addy drops at death plateau. I was happily pounding trolls, when I spied a addy warhammer lying on the ground across the way, just begging to be alched. Desperate to grab it before anyone else *rolls eyes* I equipped staff, clicked alch and then clicked the addy hammer, as I ran towards it....aw, it disappeared right when I got to it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh well no biggie right? So I switch to my equipment screen and click the whip to reequip........Oh....My...God. I stared dumb founded at the screen as my magical whip disappeared and I was rewarded with...60k gp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I breathed out a whispered and anguished "noooooooooooooooooooo". Then a much louder F$%^!, swallowing my nauseau, I logged and went outside to walk around the block while breathing "Wooo-saaaaah".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now I use runes to alch if I have whip on, and I double check the screen to make sure it says "wield" not "hi alch".

Wow, that IS pretty stupid. Don't just check the confirmation screen, examine it to make sure you aren't getting scammed/doing somthing stupid.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The stupidest thing I did was sell a mystic gold hat for 700 cosmics. I was fresh to RS2, so I had no idea cosmics were so cheap (well, now they're expensive, but that was then).

...once a low lvl came upto me whilst i was mining at lumby swamp...he started following me and asking every question he cud think about...after he heard wot my highest skill was he came back with "wow thats s**t" and followed me round more enforcing the knowledge that i was a noob and his main would kick my [wagon] :roll: so i told him if he promised to go away id tell him the rune scam...so he dropped his steel armour and bye bye he goes and feeling guilty i picked up his armour and kept it in my inv for 5 mins...but he didnt log back in so i dropped it and logged out...bet he wont do iut again :lol:

I did my dumbest thing today... I've been barrowing hard core for a week now, got t hammers, ahrims hood, guthans skirt, guthans spear and veracs brasard. So I figure, I'll sell all of the non guthans stuff and buy the plate/helm to finish the set.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I hit world 2 fally and fall for the classic "read the !8@! confirmation screen" scam to the tune of 2 mil. Thought I was buying guthans plate, but it was dharoks. Of the course of 10 minuntes while I continued to try to merchant what I needed, 3 more people tried the same dharok scam on me. Warning: The dharok/guthan plate thing in pretty rampant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So after trying to unload the dharoks for a while, I end up selling it back to the scammer for 1.6. So I lost 400k and some pride.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

People have tried to item scam me so many times and I have always been a good boy and reviewed the confirmation screen. This time I didn't. :(

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Frequent scams:

 

 

 

Buying pray pots, swap for attack pots.

 

 

 

Buying guthans spear, swap for leaf bladed spear.

 

 

 

All forms of herb swapping (the icons, especially when noted all look pretty close to the same)

 

 

 

ditto for seeds.

I just bought full black mystic (800k) and 1 day later a guy wanted to trade it. He gave me full rune (t) without kite( worth 1 mil) and so i made the deal. 5 mins later one guy wanted to buy it. He offered 1.15 mil and really [cabbage]ty stuff. i accepted but dam me-- i didn t check twice ( i always do) and got scammed :lol: :( . I was depressed for 15 mins and then thought. " what the heck" and went ack fletching. :lol:

I was buying a load of bow strings. This guy was going to sell me 700 bow strings. I offered him about 100 each, thinking i'd make a nice profit. But instead of clicking on my money, i clicked on the 2000 strings i had already.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was so eager to complete the deal i didn't check it, and only noticed after i had confirmed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i bought 700 strings for 2000 strings. Boy was i dumb.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The most potentially stupid was doing the dragon slayer quest at lvl 40 when the computer was lagging. I teleported out with 1 health - talk about close!

I was ranging black demons in taverly and some guy wearing full guthans, carrying a whip, full rune, obby shield and cape was meleeing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So this level 79 calls me a noob for ranging the black demons and is in general quite rude. So he's whipping for a while and once he's at half health he switches to his guthans... only the guthans special by random chance only is firing when he hits zero... the idiot failed to run away... and I got quite rich.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The only way you die in RS is if you're greedy... plenty of options to run away. :)
