Neohero1972
Hi I have looking at new rewards from the Temple Trekking & Burgh de Rott Ramble activity and found two rewards I would really like to have: 1. Zachory Bragg: shortcut from Canifis to Mort'ton 2. Jayene Kliyn: Ouroboros pouch Now, I have read the guide, but is a bit confused about what to bring along as the list seems quite overwhelming ! So what is the minimum I should bring along both in terms of weapons and supplies. Also, how long will it take for Zachory and Jayene to reach level 99, so I can get my hands on those cool rewards ! Quyneax
Zach will take a while, Jayene is nice and quick to level. You should bring an ivandis flail, generic good weapons and armour, prayer potions, some food, and a sack of cabbages (10) or two. And you need a druid pouch. parthenorius
I usually bring : primary weapon, claws (to quickly kill off monsters attacking my NPC), ivandis flail (if you dont have this you need to bring a sickle instead), pouch, dwarven army axe, knife (to skin snakes, optional), one basket of strawberries (for the travellers turning into ghasts, although you can choose to make it into a combat event), 2 or 3 prayer potions, some pieces of food. To level your characters quickly, you want them fighting as much as possible. So try to get the monsters to attack you, and turn of auto-retaliate.Choose easy or medium paths at first, otherwise your characters wont hit very often. Good luck.
Neohero1972
Hi Thank you for your advise - I'm really looking forward to try the mini-game. Just to make sure I have got it right: 1. Primary weapon + armor2. Ivandis flail 3. duid pouch + silver sickle (for refilling pouch)4. Dwarven Army Axe5. Prayer potions6. Food for healing myself7. Food for my companion Please let me know if I have missed something in my setup. -----additional questions----- The travellers who turns into ghasts: wouldn't it be better to let them turn into ghasts in order to get better experience for my companion ? Food for my companion: what can be recommended ? Adventurer's Log for Neohero1972
potatohead
The travellers who turns into ghasts: wouldn't it be better to let them turn into ghasts in order to get better experience for my companion ? Food for my companion: what can be recommended ?For the companion food, I'd use monkfish. Cheese wheels are another good alternative to the basket of strawberries for the ghast event. homer205
If you have the flail then you don't need the sickle. I just used a stack of tuna for companions food.
Neohero1972
Hi One more question about the food for my companion: Can I transfer food to them first and then head to the bank and redraw food for myself or do I have to share the food I have ? pulli23
You hardly ever need food: considering for training easy/med is often best (and once hard is best, your friend dishes out amazing damage). My setup:standard "defensive" combat gear (should be enough for tanking 2 runs).ivandis flail (in case you haven't done all myrenique quests: silver sickle - or once you finished jayene, crossbow with silver bolts)enchanted excalibur (healing in case of emergency, hardly ever needed) And usefull equipment:hatchet (lumberjack events)knife (snakes, other river events)potatoes/cabbages/strawberries (starving adventures)druidic pouch First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. transcript80
Also, the food remains after the trek. When I loaded my friend full of tuna, he ate during the trek some times. When doing the trek again, I could only transfer a few food items to my friend. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

Yes, this is also my experience so far, they don't seem to have a high maintanance in terms of food - especially if you tank the enemies they fight ! BSFood persists between treks. If you give them 28 food via the trade interface and they don;t eat the next person will have 0 free spaces and so on until they do eat. It's true you can't get it back, but it stays there indefinitely; only time I lost it between treks was a lag out which made it all vanish. Sy_Accursed
They can still die if they have food, they are a bit slow to eat compared to a player; and therefore can be koed before eatting slightly easier than a player would be.I've had a couple die to snakes with food due to getting piled. Troacctid
I found the food most useful for leveling Dean Vellio. He has to be in melee range to attack, so he often ends up tanking some damage if I can't pull aggro before he runs into combat, and occasionally needs the food to keep fighting. Jayene and Zapp can attack at range, so it's easier to get them into safespots or stand in between them and the monster; as a result, I didn't need as much food for them. One thing I've done in the past with ghasts is bringing raw food instead of cooked so they can't rot it. That eliminates the need for the druid pouch, which is annoying to fill. Another item that hasn't been mentioned is a terrorbird pouch. I carry the beast of burden in case I get a string of snakes and/or nail beasts before I get a chance to bank. Doesn't come up too often, but when it does, it's good to have. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
