Honestly, yes -or something similar the way they let bots get this bad over this little green pasture once known as rs.

 

I would have loved to continue play a smaller rs with less bots, but not a 'bigger' rs where everyone bots.

 

But here's the thing, even with the ton of bots (or is it because of bots), the game is still in decline.

Look at the trend of modern gaming. Most games are moving onto the iPhone/other mobile platforms. Blockbuster titles are becoming increasingly rare. More and more people (younger people, I might add - RS's target demographic) are getting laptops. Internet is becoming more commonplace.

 

If anything, the fact that Runescape is browser-based only help further its cause. It requires no install. It has few commitments, and honestly, most parents won't ask too much for 6$ a month. The few YA/YAS that plays this game won't bat an eyelash when a generic-coffee-derivative-at-Starbucks probably cost as much. Few other browser-based games can come close to what this unholy brainchild between Skinnerian psychology and classic MMORPG. It IS proven to be addictive, and it's successful because of that reason.

Good points. I don't think the iPhone crowd would ever get into rs, however. The most popular games on it are far too casual. And installing apps really isn'nt that much of a hassle compared to installing java and getting rs to load.

According to the graph site I provided above, RuneScape is up in numbers. People aren't using the Alexa toolbar. ~10,600 people are currently using the SwiftKit client, they're not included in your graph. Your graph proves nothing for your argument, only portrays the warped views you're trying to spread.

This thread has popped up at least 100 times and it always comes down to those graphs don't mean anything important in terms of the state of the game.

DOOOOOOOOM. The game is ending. So many people posting these graphs everyone must think the game is ending through graphs. Oh wait both of these threads were created by you too.

Seriously -- you could search just about "anything", graph it, and make it appear that interest in it is declining rapidly. All you need to do is enter in the correct parameters ... :rolleyes:

No one likes to talk about or admit their game dying - and you guys can rationalize it HOWEVER you want - but you have no right to stop me from predicting doom.

I am, at least, trying to send some sort of message to Jagex's investor overlords if they ever find this.

 

TBH at this point - can't wait for Jagex to fail and the investors to lose all their money in the company.
