October 5, 201213 yr Author Its your overall defence, factoring in prayers and level boost/reductions and such. Even then theres gonna be people at the mass in wayyyy worse gear than armadyl so I hihly doubt ambler would end up tanking even in arma :P If we do end up doing small team nex I might buy a piece of pernix, I hate owning expensive stuff though. October 5, 201213 yr If you want to get Pernix to improve Nexing the minimum piece worthwhile is the chaps. The cowl really doesn't cut it (and actually reduces your magic defence). I know this because my very first Nex experience in a team was with cowl, and the boost it provides is really pathetic when you weigh it against the fact that she's gonna be on you the whole time. Think I used 17 (4) brews that kill, even with SoL tanking on Zaros lol. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Personally I'd definitely get main pieces before them, and I'd only buy a main piece if I was really getting into nex.
