With this 'new millenium, we want cash' phase they have gone 100% mainstream and turned in to manufactured pop music. I can't see how anyone can respect that.

Their songs are not bad, but certainly not better than many other groups, and I stick with groups that I personally like a lot (Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Within Temptation, At The Villa People (no not Village People), and much much more but I'm not gonna turn this into a list of music groups), instead of just liking the one that everyone claims to like at this particular moment. I like Greenday, I liked them before American Idiot came out and I've liked American Idiot since the first time I heard it. Eventually, it became fashionable to like Green Day, so now old fans are complaining that they went mainstream. All of a sudden it's fashionable to call them sell-outs. And through it all, I kind of thought they were a pretty good band.
