October 19, 201114 yr one of my friends showed me this video and thought it was too cool to not share (explanation http://www.quantumlevitation.com/levitation/The_physics.html ) I skimmed through the science bit, and it doesn't seem too complicated and since then I've basically been trying to think of all the potentials applications for this...... (if only we could find superconductors that work close to room temperature)
October 19, 201114 yr It's cool, but it's been known for quite a while. POH Agility Course, Please Support!
October 19, 201114 yr You should probably have posted this in the links/videos thread. It doesn't really warrant a full discussion. October 19, 201114 yr Pardon the pun, but that's some cool stuff! :D Now if only they could do away with the track, and just have it hover over literally anything... You know, like dirt, grass, sidewalk, marble, wood, etc. ... The possibilities are endless! Can you imagine something like that hoverboard from "Back To The Future"? I can! ~D. V. October 20, 201114 yr this, is really [bleep]ing cool. How long til I get my hoverboard? we've had force shields for along time (it's a technicality though hahar.) in fact most of our technology is based on conductor / nature of particlewave physics. and to sees; once we find a room temperature superconductor (no law of nature restricts this, as far as I'm aware), amazing things are possible.
October 20, 201114 yr Actually they're also working on making superconductors still superconduct at room temperature, not just find one that's a superconductor at room temperature, and I read somewhere that they are achieving better temperatures as time goes by.
