The Back Room

The reason people like oriental weapons is because of thei exotic shapes. Though the katana and the wakisachi are the only really good ones. Those are good because their process of forging means they are not only better at holding an edge, but their use of two kinds of steel means the're more durable than anything short of swords made from damascus steel.

Social conditioning works better than Katanas.

This can be seen by the fact that duels are no longer legal...

Ultimately, though, if I had to pick a weapon it would be a pocket knife...Since you can put it in your pocket and run away from the battle, while everyone else plods about with a sword and 200 pounds of armour. Then, once people have pointlessly killed each other you can pick off the 'winners' assassin style.

Or Mustard Gas and a Crossbow. Mustard Gas will seap into everything that isn't air tight and cross bow will turn anything air tight into something that isn't air tight.

Or if we are playing medievals...a keg of quicklime and a crossbow. Get down wind, open the keg and spray liberally, blinding your foes, then fire randomly into the cloud.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I know Mather goes on about how Scandinavia do things, but there is one thing Scandinavia do good.

Making Vampire movies.

The Swedish(I think) movie, "Let the right one in"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZJUgsZ56vQ

Which is a good vampire film, it catches the true mythos of vampires, and doesn't suck like DUN DUN DUN Twilight.

But now, the US saw the Swedish hit movie and have decided to do something only America would do, steal it and remake it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reRRAEVHq8E

I don't know what to say, as the original is pretty damn good, and I just hate the US stealing awesome things.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Yep, that's Swedish.

Anyways I just tried finishing NW, nice ending, when the game is completed in a "good"* manner I guess it'd pull out the smiles of anyone. It rounded up the outcome of what you had and hadn't done, from what happened to your followers to the future of your allies' and enemies' nations. Though next time I complete the game I will finnish all the quests first.

*Pre-planned, aiming for your preferance of the future and extinction of all towns and villages who would suffer under chosen prefered rule (NCR, Legion or House).

But I wonder if it'd be possible to keep the Lucky38 in charge and take House's place.

Still kind of interested, if more people say they are, I'll play.

How are you supposed to use this as a throwing weapon?

You could try throwing it like a dart also...Or dropping it from above while holding a camera sideways so it appeared to be going forward...Lot of options(None of them terribly good).

I'm just saying, that thing is 18 inches long... I use an 8 inch throwing knive, and that is hard as hell. And at that length it's no longer a knife, it's a short sword. The handle seems like it would be easily damaged as well, so... yeah. It's not a good idea to use one, if you ask me.

It looks more decorative than useful to me, but I wouldn't trust a $19.99 price tag for Either use.

Eh, throwing weapons are quite cheap. Simple stainless steel and mass-produced. You only have to worry about tomahawk handles generally speaking.

^ As I said. And yes, it's intended as a throwing weapon.

Who knows, it might work great, but I've never heard of a throwing blade that long before. The biggest I've seen are Gytha's black daggers, and those are quite heavy and difficult to use.

Perhaps it was meant only to be a decorative piece or as a stage prop? It seems kind of... awkward to me (a bit too long to be effective at throwing, a bit too short to be useful as a full on sword and as it's made of stainless steel a bit to hard to keep an edge on in general). Just my two cents on it though.

EDIT: I could be wrong about the stainless steel part, I just checked a few online stores and they seem to only sell stainless steel throwing knives.

Well, most throwing knives are all steel... you're not going to worry about them keeping an edge usually. Not like you're trying to hit anything more than a wooden target anyways.

It actually looks kind of like one of the many knives Ronon (from SGA) carries concealed. But then again those were around 20 knives, none of which were identical so...

To use that kind of variety of knives would take one skilled thrower O.o

He was hunted by Wraith soldiers as a sport after being the sole survivor (except those who became Wraith worshippers) after their attack on Sateda where he was a high-ranking military officer. He's a bad-ass of epic proportions, though his intellect and social skills are sub-par to the least. The only word needed to describe him and his role in the series is 'violent'.

Leviathan is a great book.

My only problem is that, so far, it doesn't really seem to have a major storyline... The wonder of it compensates though, and I expect it to pick up as the background conflict does.

Also, Persepolis, great book.

Self diagnosis proves nothing.

If you really want to know, then you should go to a psychotherapist or some other kind of mind docter... Although if you only just thought of it, worst case scenario, it's extremely mild, and, personally, I would not *want* to know.
