Why to do quests - and why not?

Featured Replies

Well, if i watch pics of players at the 'Rate this' board with quite high skill total, i see often low (150-) quest points.

I don't got a lot p2p experience, but in the 25 days i've been it, quests and training skills for quests is the only thing I did.

When i ask my friends, i got only 2 or 3 who completed them all.

My question is why? Allright, some quests are quite dumb, but others unlock shortcuts, give valuable experience for beginning p2p-ers and others give the ability to wear items others can't wear. (e.g. legends cape, a staff to be a monkey etc.)

So in my eyes, there's no reason to not do them all, it's also a quite rewarding way to explore the RS-scene, and if you completed them all, there's nothing you can't have access to.

some quests are really worthwhile, take desert treasure for example/

I'm not drunk! You wouldn't dare call me drunk if i was sober!

It depends upon your outlook upon the game

Thoose trying to still play as pures (even thou rs2 combat system makes them somewhat useless) won;t do quests which give xp they don't want - whihc limits them majorly on higher quests as they don;t have the required quest completions

Thoose running as skill pures avoid all combat related quests

Thoose who are merely power, fame or money seeking no lifes just throw everything at getting xp through endless hours of pwoer training and quests are juts a useless distractions

Thoose who are pure questers will do nothing but quests

Thoose, who are gnerally the most honest and friendly players, who are playing for the fun of them game will find fun in doing all the quests along side the skills

So as you can see dependning on your gaming outlook to rs there are various reasons for and against quests

quests are fun! (i'm one quest point over what you think is low woot! sig might not be updated yet \=). also some quests got some pretty awsome rewards like heroes, legends, drag slayer, desert treasure, lost city, regicide, mourning ends 1 (i think, gona try it when i get the stats :P ), monkey madnes etc.

I'd done all quests... Up to Rat Catchers I think, The quests are just not worth the effort any more, the quests are borring, rubbish awards.

I'll do quests if jagex actualy starts bringing out good quests, and not ones aimed at lower level players which take 5 minutes to do and you get a rubbish award.

Even if they r for low levels and rubbish rewards aI fin them fun to do as they break up th monotiny of skill training

i just do them every week so they don't pile up, and you don't know what advantages may come with it.

I'm going to do all the quest, i now just did al the novice quests an dgoing to start with the mediulm quests. I think quests are great, some storylines are really good and the rewards are also wurth it.

Quests are boring "run here, run there, get this item, give to that NPC, get your reward"-tasks.

ive done every quest but mournings end 2, and im not a pure or a some1 power trains crazily. but im finding mourings end 2 to be more difficult to complete then any other quest, just simply because i havent even got past the first hand holds yet. :? i figured 70 agility would be able to just go over without no problem then i hear from my friend of a guy with 99 agility(s1acker) fell a couple times

I do them because, when i first got members i needed xp in member skills, some quests also gave good xp in other skills, New items, being able to weild new stuff etc

so i gotta get across to the door, then in their, then go back without falling? pfft, i might get me an agility pot if i thought it helped at all.

Ive done the important p2p quests minus legends and desert reasure. why do i only have 60 QP? simply because i dont enjoy doing them. I personally enjoy spending my time on the game merchanting, or doing a few skills(combat, mage, fletch) and then chatting with friends while i do them.

hope that answered your question.

As soon as you have 'found' the mirrors etc from chests they r put into the system so pulling teh reset lever gathers em bk

I found when doing it further u get harder it becomes as u can carry less and less food

I got 98 qp atm, got most qp coz i wanted to try out ancients myself  I had like 70 before :D

But basicly I just find them a waste of time to do. Altho some give good rewards, but thats the only reason I will do them for.

actaully, i find having done all the quests is very very convient, my friends havent done ghost ahoy, roach my friend who likes to grow ranarr and do herblore i was like, thats the easiest field to plant and get to... and my friend who has become a "reborn-again" pure ranger wants bolt racks but cant get them, and like none of the people on my list have done as many quests as i have.

True, but I do the quests which will give me the rewards etc I want. The quests that wont get me anything... well I dont even bother with them. So basicly I do quests because of the reward but not for the fun of a quest.

I never enjoyed to do a single quest so far.

i do quests for fun, after long and boring skill training
