April 13, 201214 yr I never realized you could sell items before to increase your buy limit. It did not seem to work that way when I was flipping after the armor graphic update. Guess this doesn't affect me since I thought it was always a strict 4 hour limit <_< .

April 13, 201214 yr On the bright side, The gods of rs compensated us with an uplift in the price of pernix the other day it seemed like, which made for a killer flip for lots of people. in complete seriousness i think to a large extent the profits of 90% of flippers won't really change *that* much due to the natural compensation in margin increases that will inevitably take place.
April 13, 201214 yr Author The real winners will be the wealthy people that can flip the items that are illiquid enough that you can't really flip their limit more than once in four hours anyway. Or shall we just say the middle class got relatively poorer? "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Or shall we just say the middle class got relatively poorer? Well that's correct, the wealthy players will benefit the most which imo is poeple with atleast 300m cash, resources may not even be worth flipping anymore, items with a value of 15m+ is where the profit lies
April 13, 201214 yr Perhaps someone could explain this to me....? I make a little money by buying say 10m worth of seeds at -5% of GE price and at the same time I sell the ones I have bought at +5% of GE price, giving me a slight profit all day long which works out quite nice throughout the day, how is this possible if somene buying seeds should automaticlly be given the lower price ? Strange. Quit Runescape 10 jan 2007 - Playing again 2012

Because at some point, the higher price that you are selling at will be the lowest price. or at least before, now I've heard people saying that sometimes ge offers are completing out of price order after the update. April 13, 201214 yr This is actually better for flipping as due to these limits the margins have grown bigger just like old ge. They key now is to change your flip item. There are so many items its possible to never run out of choices during the 4 hour period (think all armor, weapons, runes, pots and food in the entire game). Ive made much more money now than i did flipping withut limits. Its excellent for overnight sales aswell. RunetrackAlogRunetracker
April 14, 201214 yr I don't think this update appleis to higher quantity items... I need more tests to be sure. EDIT: Nevermind you can't sell and then buy to overcome the limit, but you can sell to yourself to overcome it. For example if you're at the buy limit for air runes(25k), and you put in a buy offer that would fill instantly, then you put in an air rune that would sell instantly, you will sell to yourself. April 15, 201214 yr Author Well, I just read the FAQ (late, I realize), and...Mod Libra: The constraints on buying items are there as they help the market to run smoothly, providing availability of items, at prices that reflect the demand for using the items. We notice that in places where the limits are set wrongly, items experience problems such as badly spiking prices and difficulty for users to buy or sell, and in some cases monopolisation. The buy limits also give slightly more constraint on the extremes of the rates at which money can be made on the Grand Exchange from high value items, which can get out of proportion relative to the rest of the game. There was never an intention for these buy limits to be by-passable by people re-selling, this was a bug. "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for."
