so today i got my first elite clue scroll and i was excited and having almost being raped by 2 priests i got my casket i open it extremely happy thinking i would get somthing good but ohh no what do i get 23 retrive casket scrolls 6 super str def and atk pots and a crystal key ...like wtf i thought u were supose to get good loots but no i got somthing worthy of maybe med clue scroll thanks again jagex u really show how much u care about ur players

I'm pretty sure the average reward is below 200k. Clues suck.

Because you not getting a 100m reward shows that Jagex doesn't care about its players (I know they don't, but still) :rolleyes:

 

You can't just do 1 and expect to get a good reward...

I will not deny that elite clue scroll rewards are often, let us say, underwhelming. On the other hand your rant seems solely based on ignorance of the norm and expectations set too high as a consequence.

If you were diying like me it would have been a pretty decent reward, but since your not clue scrolls aren't really good money and should only really be done if you enjoy them.

The clue scrolls are meant to be something of a distraction in the end, not a major money maker. You either make it or you don't.

Try wearing a Ring of Wealth before opening the castket. It may help.

Loots aren't always going to be amazing.... get more scrolls and try again. If you was guaranteed an amazing loot I am pretty sure everyone would be trying to get them.

I've done hundreds of clues scrolls, and 99% of them have been shit. Deal with it.

I have done a lot of hard clues, and it is rare that I get a god armor or something like that. It has happened but it's rare.

 

I'm sure the special armor for elite clues is also supposed to be rare.

 

It's a good thing that those items are rare. Because that does, in my opinion at least, make the clues more interesting. Because it will feel more rewarding.

 

If treasure trail exclusive items were common, I don't think the treasure trails would be very interesting.

 

But if there is anything that is bothering me it's the fact that elite clues are rare. I have killed like 2,000 steel dragons and have only recieved an elite clue once, and yeah the items I got were just a few potions that aren't worth much.

im one of the few, only had 2 elites, but i got third-age druidic wreath from 1st one :P , got 230m which has been paying for most of my stuff/skills =P

OT: I've done 235 hard clues so far (got screenshots of every reward, so yes 235 exact) and I've seen the value of the items drop month after month.

Most stuff can be sold for the alch-value where in the past the value was estimated higher.

There is light in the darkness though: I did an elite clue some months back and got a black dragon mask + some stuff totalling at 11mil value.

This isn't supergood, but still 11mil for 30minutes of running around is neat imo :) Just try to enjoy the clues, try to improve the way you do them, so you

get the reward in the fastest possible way. I like clues, but once I hit 250 I'll stop. Imo it ain't worth it anymore and I just wanna hit the 250 clues to make statistics

Treasure trails are still not worth it. They are just a nice distraction if you find them to be fun.

Depends on your level of patience and how disappointed you get when you don't score. It's not much different than monster drops really except for the tedium that can be involved. Believe it or not I actually finish elite clues faster than hard ones at times. I find the scan orb clues extremely easy as well as the "follow the arrow" ones. At first the track puzzles had me stumped until I realized how easily and quickly they can be "brute force hacked." I can finish a hard clue in ten minutes and elites generally take only slightly longer, I'd say about 20 minutes for me.

 

Runescape is just SO easy to navigate now with all the various ways of teleporting, not to mention lodestones. I do a lot of clues and yes they are absolutely not the most reliable way of making money and hard+ aren't really worth farming. If you are patient and not easily discouraged they can reveal very pleasant surprises. I've made about 20-30m off the many hard's and few elite's I've done in the 4 months I have been back to Runescape and considering the time and effort involved for me personally, its been more than worth it. I also rarely get a clue worth less than 150K which isn't bad on top of the usual 200k min received from slayer tasks that I get the clues from (the only place I get them). It adds up quickly especially when it's usually a 10-15 min extension on top of a 30 min slayer task, which isn't very much. Obviously I've made a lot more from hard clues than elite's (zammy pages ftw!) because of the sheer volume of them. I can only find 2 screenshots of elite's I've done but I'll share em! One is pretty decent and the other was abysmal..ish. :P

 

 

Once I hit a 100k reward or more I'm satisfied. 100k for 15-20mins of running around and making puzzles seems ok to me. It's not the world, but at least you feel you don't lose money for your runes etc...

Once I hit under 100k I sigh (most of the times ;) ) and when it's under 50k I swear for a second or three, then returning to slaying :)

You know, I got something else to say. I completely agree that the treasure trails are not the best way to make money, and should only be done for fun.

 

If anything, you will spend more money on treasure trails than you earn. Well, maybe not exactly that. But for the emote clues you have to spend your money on things like rune full helms, rune platebodies, and other stuff. And you will end up with 20K coins worth of items if you minus the total of what you have to pay for the items you use in the emote clues. And sometimes what the clues are worth in total is less than the money you had to spend on the emote clues.

 

So yeah, unless you get a god or trimmed armor, treasure trails really aren't a good way to make money.

 

But I personally find them fun. Not to mention I can use the lobsters and sharks I get sometimes from the clues.

Treasure trails, like everything in Runescape, are based off luck.

There is one thing about treasure trails that sucks that can affect other people. I don't think the worst part about treasure trails is the fact that treasure trail exclusives are rare. It's the fact that you can get 20K coins or something like that in total or items that are worth less than the money you had to spend on emote clues.

 

Does anyone agree that the fact that emote clues can be expensive is the worst part about treasure trails? They are the worst part in my opinion. I have gotten items that are worth like 120K coins in total, but because I had to spend money on rune platebody, rune full helm and other things I get 20K in total by selling the items instead because I had to spend a lot of money on the emote clues.

 

And sometimes the rewards are worth less than the money I had to spend for the emote clues. That is a lot worse than the fact that treasure trail exclusives are rare.

It's not like you lose the item once you do the clue. You can always sell it back.
