January 31, 200620 yr well not alot of ppl know that it gives + 3 mage attack but prayer books are cheap this days and you get them back if you die with it. So you can just go kill like 100 blue dragons sell hides and bones and get a prayer book.

January 31, 200620 yr Great...spent 1 hour on getting a broodoo shield and found out it had 5 magic defence, not 15! I'm sticking with my guthix book. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Hmm, I'm using my guthix book for mage def, only +4 =\ I gotta get one of those shields. you can go back to the guy on the 2nd floor of the light house and get a saradomin (or zammy) book for 5k, saradomin gives +8 to all defence, so its better than you guthix book. if you dont want to spend 5k on a new book use an elemental shield, which--or not if im wrong :P-- gives +6 to mage defence

February 1, 200620 yr I make and use them against some slayer monsters - especially specters - in place of an elemental shield. Also making them is a little bit of craft xp. PS: You do no the special effects against opponents - white/blue - lowers thier attack, Green - lowers thier defense and orange - lowers thier strength. I'm actually up to my ears in shields and books but I use them for different things.
