what should I use mad necklace and promissory note(s) on?

Featured Replies

I know they don't stack, but I still have that to use for 250K exp, plus now 350K note and end of the month another 650K note. My lowest skills are cons, which seems pointless, hunter which also seems pointless, thief, another pointless skill, and I could always use them on the famous agility, but there is still the rumor of a runespan-like mini game coming out for agility. I have the charms for 99 summon, so I don't need that.

I know I should use it on a "slow" skill, but I dont think I will ever try to "max" or get completion cape, so skills like agility, cons, hunter, thief, all seem pointless, as getting higher levels doesnt unlock anything useful or make good money, and all those skills are boring. Thoughts?

September is a 700k note, not 650k

  • Author

ok, but that doesnt answer the question in any way.....

thegame1431.png

well, it at least fixes your misinformation

imo you should still aim for 80+ all stats, and with your current levels, using 350k note on hunt will get you to 80 immediately.

Mad Necklace is a buyables item imo and should be used on con.

If you dg at all, getting 80/90 thief should also be considered, but it's a really fast skill if you do pyramid plunder or monkey knife fighters, so I don't recommend lamping thief. Unless you really hate it...

why do I need high thief in dging? I know that there are chests to open, but it isnt a big part of dging....

I havent done PP in like 3 years and havent done the monkey fighters quest.

I need to do some hunter for juju seconds but it is a slow skill for me.

Thanks

thegame1431.png

agiity and summoning are the best options and since you don't want to use it on agility, summoning is your best option

I am 97 summon with all the charms for 99, so that wouldnt make much sense, I might as well do prayer then....

If you dg with a maxer, most of the chests will be either 80 or 90 thief. And chests are essential, they contain coins, herbs, and charms valuable to making floors go smoother.

Getting 80+ allows you to catch draconics without hunter potion or boosts which obviously makes getting 2nds easier. Since hunt is slow for you, as you mentioned, the most sensible option that i'm seeing right now is hunt.

Don't get pray, you can already use turmoil, there really isn't any point lamping pray after 95 unless you want 99.

Personally, all of mine are going into slayer, as there has been a variety of content the past couple years to speed up agility xp. I find slayer to be one of the biggest time wasters, so my xp goes there. Currently I'm on 90-96 slayer via lamps since February, and this next xp note accompanied by the daily SOF lamps shall allow me to attain 97.

If it wasn't for slayer, it would go into agility. That is what I suggest for you.

He said he's not going to put it into agility as he never plans on attempting to max, and therefore it's wasted xp.

So, in my opinion, this thread is completely pointless as the he's already made up his mind and wants confirmation of his choice by putting restrictions in place so others come up with the same choice as him. He should do whatever he wants.

Skill doors. Pathing IS a big part of DG, and not having at least 80 is holding you back.

Other than theiving, I'd say do hunter.

Agility is a good one if you want taskmaster or Fremennik elite.

I said I dont think I will ever try to max, but you never know. It isnt a current goal, mostly my goals are 100 DGing for 3rd bind, 99 smithing, 99 craft and having fun

thegame1431.png

For someone asking for advice you are pretty damn quick to shoot down anything and everything people are offering.

  • Author

does it make a difference on using something like mad necklace on a skill where it is bonus exp, vs this which is lamps? Any thoughts on if that changes what you should use it on?

thegame1431.png

That makes no difference.

As low levelled pointed out, you've rejected all advice given in this thread. If you can't get an answer out of all of the responses on this thread, then you wasted everyone's time, including your own.

the only one I shot down was summon as I have all the charms for 99

thegame1431.png

You put a lot of restrictions on what people could answer with. People have suggested thieving, hunter, and agility and you've either rejected or ignored them. You say you don't want to waste it on a skill where getting higher levels won't unlock anything useful, yet you also say you think prayer would be a good option.

You've made a lot of restrictions, rejected every suggestion, contradicted yourself, and have made clear your only goals right now are 100 dg, 99 craft, 99 smithing, and having fun. If you want to have fun then do whatever you want with the experience. Go with whatever random gut feeling you get. If you want advice on the best option for maxing out, go with agility since you have the charms for summoning already. If you want the best out of your current goals, crafting is the most expensive and is marginally faster than smithing.

As I pointed out earlier, things that give bonus xp like mad necklace should be used on buyables to save money. Lamps should be used on either buyables again or skills that are slow to level.

Expect a reasonable amount of error, maybe ±15-20%. Edit in your income. You'll want to use your lamps and shit on the one with the lowest total productivity (column J).

Note: Summoning is the most inaccurate, since it doesn't factor in time saved slaying. It also doesn't factor in blue charms. It also assumes that all crims are gathered at 200 per hour, which is unrealistic, since you get some losslessly from slayer. This is why we don't know if it's the best to lamp or not.

I'll gladly fix any xp/hour or gp/xp errors as well.

May I ask, why aint Herblore brought up here? I thought herblore was the most expensive skill for 99.. herblore can be nice to have for good potions in combat and such

herblore experience from when you unlock extremes on should really only come from making extremes/overloads to use when bossing/dungeoneering?/slaying so the cost is extremely high in gp but over the course of gameplay is significantly cheaper due to not spending money on getting experience then buying supplies for overloads and other unreadable potions

I don't like this. Unless you value overloads a lot, making them is highly unproductive. You don't need that many unless you pvm a lot, and pvm isn't that great money anymore.

Except Kiln & QBD, which are both over 5m/hr and that makes them the best gp/hr in the game outside merchanting. And you need overloads for dungeoneering as well.
