December 7, 201213 yr I think removing F2P worlds is the opposite solution we need... All of the best skill spots are already overly crowded (from both real players and the botters that Jagex has failed to remove), and fewer worlds will just make this worse. I really miss the days when I could woodcut or go mining in English worlds. After this, I wouldn't be surprised if even the foreign servers start to fill up. Gf skilling.... December 7, 201213 yr They should make two 2400+ worldsTo separate the elitists from the ones that want a community? You have my full support :thumbup:I don't appreciate sarcasm. I figured two because they would be packed quickly and perhaps meant for different parts of the world, just in case one world would have crazy high ping. Also it would open up some training areas, get rid of a lot of beggars/spammers/scammers/flower game people at GE.
December 7, 201213 yr JaGEx has started to undo the F2P policies that I find most abhorrent, including the removal of the level cap in Dungeoneering, as well as plans to reinstate F2P high scores. Re-purposing worlds to meet demand is a logical step that I'd expect any company to take.Actually some guys on the RSOF were talking about the level cap still being around, just that they only apply for those of combat levels 90-138. EoC was ready :P In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

It's probably a good idea (Or at the very least, not a bad idea), and if I don't like it, it probably has more to do with the previously mentioned spite than it does with the merits of the idea itself. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
December 7, 201213 yr From experience in the 1000+ total level F2P worlds, it's more of a pain than blessing, seeing that everyone online on that world will probably do the same thing as you, crowding things up.

So did a HLF member kill your parents or something? Just wondering why the unwarrented spite.
December 7, 201213 yr So did a HLF member kill your parents or something? Just wondering why the unwarrented spite.I just don't like that the only group of players that they actually take feedback from are the maxed players. I know they're supposed to know the most about the game (Whether that actually is the case is another story), but there's almost no communication with anyone else. Even the mod communities barely get lip service, and we're supposed to be doing some kind of job for them. We've got a community that had tons of different play styles and only one that actually gets a say in things. The only worthwhile updates these days are for that 2400 group. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
December 7, 201213 yr HLF is undergoing changes at the moment, with the removal of a feedback forum as it didn't make sense (to the Jmods now) to separate feedback from maxed and non-maxed players. Anyway, you'd only have to see the current state of the HLF to realise that drawing feedback solely from maxed players now just doesn't happen at all. I think it's unfair to say that the only worthwhile updates are catered to 2400+ players when we've had a bunch of great things this year such as QBD, Kiln, GWD, Quests, and various XP boosting content that offer something to a large amount of the playerbase. With all the additional XP and stuff you could say that the worthwhile updates these days push players towards being in the 2400 group. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
December 7, 201213 yr -World 60 will become an official penguin hunting world. And about time, too ... Will they decommission PKing for that world? I wonder ...
December 7, 201213 yr -World 60 will become an official penguin hunting world. And about time, too ... Will they decommission PKing for that world? I wonder ... That would be sweet but I doubt it, support outside the penguin hunting community is rather slim, as far as I have experienced it. It probably would trigger a lot of Babyscape comments and the like. And admittedly there are even some hunters who like it the way it is, although quite a minority. Well, and they said they would only change themes, no mechanics :P I'm also wondering how the penguin whisperers of w71 feel about this. Bit of a slap in the face that only 60 is becoming a penguin hunting world... Edit: Just read through the thread...Oh Lord, the drama. I wasn't expecting that much rage. I wonder what'll happen with this. While I don't think it's too much of an issue (Both worlds will probably carry on mostly like they have before, regardless of any labels) I do see a problem with seemingly promoting one group over an other (even if not intended). Labeling both or none is probably wiser.
December 7, 201213 yr TBH, I thought penguin whisperers would have wanted to stay less known in order to prevent such people not in the know from finding them. Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014

Labeling both or none is probably wiser. Personally, I am indifferent to the PKer's entirely. I chase the penguins wherever they may be. So far, since the return of "PKing", I've been PK'd twice while hunting penguins - once on purpose. As far as worlds go - I've used both W71 and W60. While I like W71 because it lags a lot less for me, I find the W60 chats to be much more dependable than relying on old siting reports posted on the RSOF, especially since the inclusion of the "invisible penguin". That's also not to mention the group(s) that also penguin search on World 99 ...
December 7, 201213 yr TBH, I thought penguin whisperers would have wanted to stay less known in order to prevent such people not in the know from finding them. I thought so too. It wouldn't surprise me if they moved following this. But Jagex waited just long enough that w60 was ingrained into player culture so that if they did move, they'd still have a decent amount of the player base going there because they don't know any better. If there's one tinfoil hat conspiracy that I believe wholeheartedly, is that jagex systematically wants to take player aid and assistance away from the players and back into their hands -- or the hands of the "new pmods" they'll be taking on like puppets on a string.
December 7, 201213 yr I was actually referring to w71 penguin hunters... :) Not w60. Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
December 7, 201213 yr I doubt things are going to change very much for World 60 even if the label should be added. We're already publically known and the label will most likely not have a big impact on the number of new/inexperienced hunters nor trapbreakers. Even if the numbers should change, we'd still be able to cope with it - and tbh moving would be incredibly annoying. There would have to be new friend's chats, we'd probably lose hunters who didn't realize the move, we'd have tons of offworlders - it wouldn't be pretty. I couldn't really imagine a situation where moving would be a wise decision for us. W71 may a bit less known overall, but they also have a lot of hunters and are far from a secret tip or anything like that. They usually have had fewer trapbreakers than us, partly maybe because of publicity but I think also due to the fact that fc's tend to generate more drama and hunters who get angry for being kicked. They've had a pretty serious trapbreaking attack over several weeks(I think even months) recently though, so it happens to them too. But they have coped with it as well, and I doubt they would want to move. Kim has a good point about Jagex "taking over" player aid - penguins may be the most prevalent example because those are the biggest groups, but the basic question is if Jagex even should make themed worlds based on a certain group at all. It could lead to less new groups being created, to one group being unfairly favored and it could also make the group look like they are controlled by Jagex or organized by them.
December 8, 201213 yr World 4 is the server closest to me and the one I use when I keep getting stuck on the "loading 50%" messages. I didn't think the english language worlds had this problem, it's plaguing all the french worlds, so perhaps they're on the same physical server? Lol just take a look at the french RSOF it's filled with threads about the 50% issue.
December 8, 201213 yr They took away F2P highscores? :oCan't be sure if he's trolling...or really that ignorant/new to runescape... :-k Quest Cape Achieved 10/08/2012TFU: Ruinous Edge http://www.transformersuniverse.comA piece of glass in the sand under your feet, it cuts you deep and it makes you hate the beauty that you see.

It used to be that I'd log into W71 for penguins because they were usually all exactly where they we listed on their forum. Now the penguins are rarely trapped on W71 ...
