viperstrick Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 i was jst sat cooking lobbies in the rouges den as u do .. and some random dude comes up to me and asks me to trade... i do he puts up 80 air runes and ask's me to buy i say no he says 600 gp and i dont want so he walk off and cals me a noob... i asked him why and he jst walks of.. i tried to make my self belive the community was still good but i guess it int.. viperstrick if u wouldnt mind i would liek either your storys of the bad community or your views on it... i aint a noob either i played in classic ... which i must admit did rule with my old chacrter kickflip2003 but then stopped and started again with my new charcter viperstrick and the ocmmunity has nuthin but gone down i do agree the community can be good but there are a few people who ruining it and the amount of 'few' people seem to be rising very fast Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How would you feel if you randomly traded someone and he bluntly declined your offer? Did you ever think about that, huh? I mean the world is after all revolving around you and if people think otherwise they must have missed that memo so you have to set them straight by calling them noob. If they do I can quietly point to the white text and go on with my everyday life. There are nice ways to deal with things. Not always true. About a year ago I played a game called A Tale in the Desert. Pretty much everyone was nice, and that was about two years after its release. I came back a few weeks ago just to see how everything was doing; the people were still nice. But, the game is so complicated (mining in itself is complicated; you have to mine ores, and have to distinguish which minerals contain which metals, and then refine these minerals in a forge. And thats not the most complicated thing; making tools is extremely complex. you actually have to shape them with tools, and the more accurate you get it the better the tool is) , tedious, and sometimes downrigh boring and repetitive, that I definatly see why the immature little kiddies steer clear from it. In fact, that game is so boring in some of its apsects, everybody in the game auto's and the staff dosen't really care; it's not aganst the rules. I actually enjoyed it for about a year, but mainly because there were so many nice people to talk to. The boredom + mind numbing complications eventually got to me, though. RuneScape is like the average MMORPG. It is actually fun, and pretty simple in most of its aspects. So it attracts the bratty kids that beg for free stuff that we hate so much. Was doing a large rune chest puzzle and didn't really wanna be bothered, but every time I would get on to do a puzzle... I was bound to get one person that just had to attempt to engage a conversation with me. Even when I made it obvious that I just wanted to be left alone and have some peace and quiet. I've spent all week slaying fire giants in the waterfall, and I have had no arrows stolen, no archers throw out the random "Arrow stealing noob!" when you walk on the same space as the monster, more people closing the doors, more "ty"s for closing them,less monster stealing, and more running when you accidentally do steal one, and I have only heard the word "noob" used once all week. Not to me at least. Don't take one example, generalize it, and then think because of this one example the whole community is going downhill. There have been people like him since runescape started. tewas Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 ignoring works very well, and i don't mean to put into ignore list but simply don't respond to them well u get called noob but life didn't change for you or did it? and there is a lot of nice people around you. a lot of times i found someone just to chat while doing smth like farming, slaying or simmilar. the worst part of people are in f2p worlds 1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb. 02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb. 07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.Prayer is good for herbs Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fact: The community on most MMPORPGs suck to an immeasuarble degree. Fact: Runescape has the best community filters I have personally experienced as yet. So if the people are starting to get to you, use the ignore list! Use your friends list! Use the Private Chat off Function! If you want an assured enjoyable multiplayer experience with no hassels, have some rl friends around for some console action. Otherwise you are just going to have to realise that the community on runescape is going to ruin your gaming experience sometimes, be prepared for it, and do your best to enjoy the game as much as you can despite the lamers. Truly sorry for the rant guys, but it just seems so reasonable that the community is never going to improve if people don't start taking a proactive approach rather than just whinging when others don't behave in a way that is not perceived as detrimental to their runescape experience. And on that matter of ranting, shouldn't this thread be in the rants forum? Seeing all these community rants in the general and general p2p forums is really starting to bum me out. Once that is achieved, your community will prosper, with the teachings the high levellers pass down. The guy who started misusing noob when scamming, hackling, or killing someone led that person to do the same to the people and it just went in a chain and it's really out of control. It's like Martin Luther King Jr. against violence..it'll never die. To many ignoran people. To think some of the people that be calling other noobs are actually high lvls and/or aren't little kids and are actually in highschool and have jobs. Sad... While there are many people that are good in the community, there are many people that are that exact same way.
