Either the requirements for the quest itself could involve those quests, or the pursuit of those extra rewards could expand on the lore provided in each respective quest.

well maybe they could do that for future quest too. I mean disregard the fact that leveling up is piss easy anyway They can make quest with good rewards that require a high stat but not make a quest cape require high stats ect.

According to what I believe, the 140 combat is for the core quest, unlocking only the most basic elements of the story. The subsequent pieces of the quest, requiring those quests and so on will unlock more quests, RFD-style. We know the Mahjarrat will play a role, Char will too, as does Nex. This will probably turn us closer to the year 170.

Probably we will see Zaros and Guthix together in this quest, so I'm really thrilled! :D

And then the obligatory Shyamalanesque twist: Zaros actually IS Guthix.

Kind of disapointed in it having an 140 req. Since in the quest what will you actual do? You wont use your skills to do anything.

I've always been a fan of Zaros, and on a secondary note green is my favorite color which was why Guthix is my second favorite God... And he is just awesome like that. If this twist is true then I'll be really excited. :) As for the quest, I'm really hoping it ends up a lot like RFD, as that was one of my favorite quests because it made me work for certain levels, however this one won't, its still the idea that makes me excited.

The problem is see with it (although it would be awesome), is that Zamorak would have drained the powers of Guthix then. :c

Timelines exclude the possibility of Guthix being Zaros when you think about it.

Guthix is asleep. Zaros is about. - This could work.

Zamorak 'kills' Zaros causing him to fade out - Things could still work.

Guthix wakes up slams the stone of jas down to end fighting a banishes all the gods - This is where it breaks. Zaros has already been 'killed' as is gone so it would be impossible for Guthix to be around now if they were the same guy.

I am excited for this month's updates. Hopefully the quest doesn't come out on my birthday (the 26th) so that I can do it on release.

A GM quest featuring Guthix, that I have all the requirements to complete fully. Finally the first true test in maintaining my QP cape, since I've earnt it (every quest since has been reworks) so I really can't wait :)

Just hope Jagex don't mess up this storyline, kind of disappointed that the GM quest that changes the world has no mention of Zaros, hoped the GM quest that heralded year 170 would be the return of Zaros.

Nothing else really draws my attention to February's updates.

Fire makers curse - more zaros/zammy

True I missed that part, really hope Jagex do this quest justice. I'm expecting something truly mind blowing if it's as good as the hype Jagex have given it so far.

Tbh the way they worded it makes it sound exactly like RFD.

 

RFD was billed as you need this to do the quest but this to fully access all the rewards.

 

I could imagine it being like 4 or 5 factions searching for the place, you sort of play them off and find it - there ends the basic quest.

Then each faction got in a different way and are looking at different things and you help/hinder each in the extra reward parts.

Definitely looks like a good month. I'm interested to see what they'll do with the old random characters in the museum.

Seeing how Guthix looks like in his slumber will be more surprising than seeing Saradomin for the first time.

 

I really like this month. Very lore-driven with the Slayer Tower Rework explaining a bit about one of Zamorak's buddies, the GM quest having earth-shattering (possibly literally) lore, and the sinkholes expanding on Bilrach's story.

 

Something that I find interesting though is that they mentioned that we are looking for his original resting place, not his current resting place.
