I'm pretty sure I got a trimmed glory from a clue once, before elite clues were released. Though, those are obviously rare.

Oh, right, trimmed. Forgot about those.

trimmed glories are definitely new

I wonder how many "illegitimate" ranks there will be. For example, you hire a bunch of "slaves" to collect materials for you, and you'd pay them on the main game for their services. Or if anybody will account share.

All the rank 1's. Unless someone is charasmatic enough to find a way to make money while non stop training. ie: the old days of permanent buyers and sellers.

But i would imagine that even with mining granite there will be waterskin slaves

According to runewiki, trimmed glories were released in 2006.

Sorry if I skip words in my sentences from time to time. My brain tends to be a step or two ahead of my fingers when I type.

Does anybody know when the first Jad graphics update was? Will 07 Jad look like the one in my sig? That one was my favorite :D

Should be, I'm keen on an (eventual) rematch with him

According to runewiki, trimmed glories were released in 2006.

And, sadly, Uri was released in 2006 :P

Yeah, Uri's gonna be a real pain early on :P

Hmm, could you still got normal glories as well?

Whats TIFs prediction about the high scores on Friday March 1st?

My guess, assuming that the 'elite' players play 120 hours in week 1 and that there is at least one player doing so in each skill.

Total level: 500

Attack: 75 - will be lower then strength presumably because higher strength will give better xp rates

Strength: 83 - melee can be trained at a min of 20k an hour at fight caves, but yaks/experiments/zombie monkeys/gorillas/duelling 1 def pures may all give better xp rates

Defense: 73 - will be lower then strength because this player will have to sacrifice strength/att levels for rank 1 defense

HP: 85

Range: 75 - standard bow and arrow training since chins will not be around for a while, 120 hours for 75 seems reasonable assuming some arrow shop access and at least green dhide. Probably fire giants safe spotting.

Prayer: 60 (ecto + lvl 43 = 175 dbones, lvl 60 = 951 dbones, lvl 70 = 2562 dbones)

Magic: 70 (depending on whether the runecrafters have nats yet)

Cooking: 80 (depending on ability to buy on forums)

Woodcutting: 65 (no rune axes!)

Fletching: 70 - probably fletching willow logs

Fishing: 70 - flyfishing then barb fishing

Firemaking: 80 - probably burning willow logs

Crafting: 67 - bowstring/clay/etc.

Smithing: 60 - probably superheating

Mining: 75 (granite mining through week 1 will happen)

Herblore: 66 (super sets)

Agility: 72 (courses till wildy course)

Thieving: 61 (master farmer presumably)

Slayer: 55 (something like 5k an hour can be expected)

I think you are way off, after a week we'll see skills in the 90s. I wouldn't be suprised if some people got those levels in less than 24 hours.

Put this together. This is my plan. If there are any other Quests that should be added, let me know.

peace,

Vann

For the quest list, keep in mind that some quests might require items which won't be conveniently obtainable for a while. Too bad the ability to "filter" quests was released after 2007 I think. That'd be convenient to have. Unless helpsites have a feature where you can input your stats and it'll filter the quest list for you.

Also, prioritizing the MTK quests would probably a very wise idea.

Yeah as I was going through the quest list I noticed MTK and realized no one has really mentioned it. There are other quests, I just put ones that are easy/medium. Always have the hard quests.

Tears of Guthix would be a good one to prioritize as well.

Peace,

Vann

with an established economy sure. I rated it low because of the complete lack of an establishment. That creates bottlenecks, that limits access to better weapons/armor/bonuses like potions. Not to mention a complete mess of a situation where 500 players are fighting for the nearest cow/chicken/goblin/copper ore/normal tree/etc.

Ammy of accuracy might have some value in this environment because of the mess it will be to even finish imp catcher & the lack of decent enchanted ammies like str/power/glory.

For combat I feel like im right, for a lot of production skills too the economy will be haywire. The only one I may be wrong about is skills like mining/fishing which could be exceptionally higher in 120 hours of gameplay. My guess is you could have some high 80's and possibly 90's in skills like mining/agility.

MTK will be good, but 07scape will be cash poor early on so it may be hard to get the 750k needed to have full coffers. Definitely week 2 or 3 it will be great

with an established economy sure. I rated it low because of the complete lack of an establishment. Anyways I'm thinking about making a thread for that topic.

I understand that, but skills like wc will still be trained pretty fast, and even though some people say that there will be no rune axes, that's not completely true. I remember getting lots of rune axes from the random events, and they will be more common than some people think (though saying that, I'm not saying they will be widespread common, but it only takes a few in the right hands to get those fast levels).

Skills like herblore, they will definitely start out much slower for the majority, however, I still believe that some people will find ways to level up fast.

Anyway I'm not trying to say you are wrong, I like to see people estimate (even they I think they are way off). You could be close to some of the harder skills like herblore, but I can guarantee that woodcutting will be far past 65 in a week.

And we're talking about those committed to going for rank 1 in these skills, it will be very competitive.

And of course the fun is not knowing exactly what will happen.

Any idea what time the launch should be? I heard noon GMT??

Peace,

Vann

From the Q&A it sounded like it's happening sometime on Friday night GMT, but who knows.

Im excited for whatever happens. It would be pretty cool to see the community slugging along as well as it would be cool to see it reach level 90 in skills in a week.

Your probably right though. In most of the gathering skills you can expect upper 80's and possibly even some 90's. The production skills will be slow for a while, as well as combat [potentially]. That said is rune/addy armor and a d long horribly slower then the most optimal sets? Probably not as much as people think. I think breaking into the 80's and 90's bracket will make up for the lack of strength gear then again a few RFD quests for low tier guants/climbing boots can definitely be the welfare equivalent.

Yep will be very cool!

Since the hiscores will be the same as it was back then, that means you'll need 30 to get ranked for a skill. Does anyone remember the total level you needed?

What? Really? I thought I read that they were bringing back the old hiscores and having it just the way it was?

I guess it's not a big deal, but still.

Hey guys, do any of yall know when Runescape changed the Rune 2H stance?

It used to be a stiff 2H stance where the 2H lays over the shoulder.

They then changed it sometime in 2007 where you hold your 2H with 2 hands. Was it before pre Aug.10 or post?

Thanks!

That name looks familiar ...

Hold stance with both hands was implemented after the GWD update, before that it was held the same as Dharok's greataxe (on shoulder).

This is perhaps the best thing I've heard about 2007Scape. I loved that stance and my one gripe with the current animations is that they only use it for two-handed swords (That, and the staff/spear idle, but that's minor by comparison).

Woooo old school server! Time to meet up with old friends once again. Unfortunatly, I lost access to Spa_Ins somehow, and will thus be playing on Mitch_H5 - hope to see some familiar faces about, though with name changes, I probably won't even recognize them. Renewed my membership for the first time in over 2 years for this.
