Leik
Blogscape can be a bit "rough" if you're fairly new and don't really know anyone around Tif. Just keep on posting updates, post on other people's blogs and don't forget about posting elsewhere on the forums too. :P Also, no offense, but people generally don't care that much for stuff like "74 crafting, yay" kind of updates. People would be more interested in PvM things, or DIY stuff and something unique in general. EDIT: Also, don't worry too much about it in the first place. Blogs are more of a personal thing anyway, although it certainly feels good when people post and give you feedback and such. 2 LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON. Lose No Hope
Along with posting on blogs, feel free to post on ISE (zaaps' blog). It's not really a blog for runescape but we are a friendly group of weird people. Joining in has gotten many people in the past new friends on TIF and it's a nice group to be a part of in the large TIF community. link: http://forum.tip.it/topic/298366-its-cuteness-effective/page__st__17140 1 [hide]unbinding green's kidneys for ltk's heartdo you farm guam like me sir ltk[/hide]
Stev
PvM, PvM, and PvM. People love to (and sometimes love to hate to) see people get lucky bossing or other things. That's the reason Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here! is one of the most popular threads we have. Once people see your posts on there, get a sense or the type of gamer you are and become familiar with you, they'll open threads just because they've seen you post in them. For example, if I'm scrolling through the list of forums and I see that Meredith was last to post in a thread, I open it because I know it's hopefully going to have something to do with coding or PvM. If I see one by aerendil, depending on the foum, I'll probably see some PvM screenshots. I used to look forward to 999134thpure's staking videos and screenshots (used to because staking is dead). Just some examples. People have to get to know you a bit. :).

Sy_Accursed
I think they key is do not focus on 'becoming known' focus on achieving things and doing things that are worth being known for; I mean all the pretty well known tifers haven't gone out of their way to be known - just through forum presence over the years you develop an identity within the community that people come to recognise. To me most, if not all, of the 'known' people in Tip.It are consistently active users who have been around from 2008 or earlier; plus memorable names seems to be a key factor like Tripsis, Quyneax, Stev, Misplacedme etc. they're all sort of not generic mash two words and a few numbers together names, they have something unique about them and have a good flow to their pronunciation that helps them become memorable. shasta_sms
To reiderate what others have said: Being active in a community is a great way to draw people toward you. I remember years ago when I used to make RS videos on Youtube. I never went around asking people "Hey look at my videos" or anything. I just would post comments on other people's videos and make new and interesting videos. Granted it was pretty easy years ago when there was rarely anything RS related on it. So making quest walkthroughs, DIY, and RS animations I was able to draw a strong following.
Gandalf14141
Don't worry about it too much, just let it happen. I've been here since September of 2008 and not many people know who I am. Just focus on hitting your goals and let the rest fall into place. Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! muggiwhplar
I had a pretty popular blog for a bit but it was exhausting to update every day. People liked it because it was different from all the other blogs. Everybody else's blog was just, "Follow me on my progress towards X level!" and then they'd just post screenshots of their levels along the way. Boring. Mine was more "a day in the life of..." Similarly, nobody on TIF really did any PvP so I did a lot of staking and PK'ing and took screenshots of my stakes and filmed a lot of my PK'ing, which people found exciting. As a general rule of thumb, examining what everybody else does and then doing the opposite generally leads to success. :D
Trinitydunge
Do you join events and things where possible or avoid them due to not being known/don't feel levelled enough? Im joining the gwdz event on the 16th, i try to join the big topic chats but i seem to lose track as to whats going on and i don't really feel comfortable cause im not known all that much? GregorDGrim
You could also do what I do and write awesome stuff instead of boring stuff. This was my strategy. Then, when you get really famous, you can go back to writing boring stuff since you already have an audience. One thing that appears to work: start a forum thread asking about how to become known. The musings of a newbie going after his second thousand levels.
