bob7926
let me first say, i did take pics but only ended up with the last one as i forgot to save them before taking another so unfortunately i dont have pics, you'll just have to believe me. well, i was in fally park alching while i looking around at who was selling and who was buying(phats). I mention that im selling(colors are irrelevant as they dont relate to the story) and when my message appeared, someone asked to add them and i did. this person asked if i could help him with tears of guthix and for my help he would pay 300k. i usually help when asked and in this case i agreed and off we went. when we got down passed draynor, i knew it was the swamp cave scam and mentioned that i am not going down there. he gave me a lantern anda duel ring(for tele) as well as a mirror shield(so when i died, i would drop what i had and keep that because all i had were nats, money, and yew bows). we finally get to the jumping rock where on the other side you need to re-light your lantern or you will die. needless to say, i died..but not in anger, i died laughing. you see, back in fally, i did say i was selling phats(which i do/am) but i do not carry them on me until i am certain i have a trade. for reasons such as these or if i am killed by a random or something. all i had on me was roughly 1k yew longs, 700 nats, and 45k(i started with 1100 longs, but bought only 750 nats as thats the only seller i could find). so when the scammer found a worthless pile of a measley 800k or so, he wasnt very happy. I messaged saying something like "enjoy the 800k, hope that was worth you wasting your time" and he responded with "lol you got my hopes up, thought you were carrying the phats"..i went on to say i knew about the scam and for him to meet me in draynor because he did not believe i have what i say i have. after showing him the crown shape pieces of paper he said something about the pile i dropped and i responded with "i could care less about the worth of the items, i care more about the exp" this is when he said something like "well, i dont care for this stuff either, want the stuff back?" of course i said yes, and we met in fally where it all started and he gave me back the stuff i dropped(i also gave him his mirror shield back). after it was all said and done, i said thanks and good luck..and he asked "would you like to help me?" i replied with a simple "no..im an honest player" and that was the end of it. what is odd about this story you ask? well..the reason i posted it is because i knew it was a scam and couldnt help but laugh at the fact this guy was wasting 5 minutes over just 800k. and i was happy to get my items i lost back so i could continue with the exp. im sorry i was not thinking ckearly and did not save the pics, should his ever happen again..i'll remeber to save befire taking another :P

bob7926
well, the scammer was thinking i had the phats i was selling in my invent. which is why he was disappointed at what he found and why i couldnt help but laugh because i knew he would be upset/disappointed. The_Jeppoz
How can you say "i care of exp only" if you a)claim to be a merchant b)have totaly noobish stats ? Plus unless you'r doing it as a show off, as i belive, any merchant would actualy care about losing 800k in 5 mins, since that's 9.6 M an hour... I'm totaly sure players with a networth of 1Bil+ still care about 800k losses... Now i realy doubt you can make that much an hour expecialy cause i've never seen you in fally world 2 selling hats

Heath_at_UK
I don't see how you could report him for scamming. This doesn't seem to be any sort of scamming in any sense that i know of the word. You died of your own fault. Sorry if i'm wrong but please explain how this would be scamming. trunksrs
It's not technically a scam, because by definition a scam has to involve a lie. It's just unfair because these people try to lure others down who do not know the dangers of being down there, so they die quickly and loose their stuff. I'm totaly sure players with a networth of 1Bil+ still care about 800k losses... Now i realy doubt you can make that much an hour expecialy cause i've never seen you in fally world 2 selling hats -I care more about exp because of those totally noobish stats. -no, im not doing it as a show off..im writing this so people become aware of this scam and also the fact that i got the stuff back. -I myself haven't seen you in 2 either maybe we play at different times. -the major reason I say i dont care about the loss in money is, money can always be re-gained...materials can as well but losing the time it took to make the material plus having to alch the material made after loses is far more upsetting then losing cash. once again, this is why i said i care more about the exp. I think this story is the other way around nope, sorry. I dont need to scam in order for me to enjoy playing. What do you mean that you need to re-light the light source after going over the river, i cross the river alot and i dont have to re-light, please explain? after i jumped on the jumping stone and crossed the river, my lantern went out(i think this was because i fell in the water). as the surrounding area became pitch black, i started to get attacked and llost 1hp per hit, i died rather quickly. I don't see how you could report him for scamming. This doesn't seem to be any sort of scamming in any sense that i know of the word. You died of your own fault. he asks for people to help them by bribing them with money, as well as giving them items(mirror shield, bucket, ring of dueling) to increase the chance of dropping your stuff. it may not be a reportable scam..but its still a scam of sorts
indalecio
I've forgotten to bring a tinderbox with me before. Doesn't neccessarily mean you die ... If you randomly right click in the general direction of the exit into Juna's cave, you are bound to find the way out eventually. Even if your lantern goes out and you don't have a tinderbox, you aren't doomed. Oh yeah. That's right.
bob7926
yes but those that arent aware of that will/can die fairly quickly.
RAHK
The part of this story that doesn't make sense is: if you knew that this was a scam and you honestly care more about xp than gp, why would you take anything that you were willing to lose there? Why not ash? It would have been even more funny without ANY risk whatsoever...
