At what point in your life where you were the least social

Featured Replies

For me, 8th grade. I never could invite myself to anything my friends went to do, and I rarely got invited to anything because I kept declining invites. I felt so alone/neglected.

I never knew how to over come this. But eventually it just happened. :?

Hmmm...your name is the realist, could you tell me why?

Anywho...the point when I was least social...probably around 7th grade or so...quite a while ago.

However, now, I see there is a huge difference in being anti-social and being happy on your own....

Nevermind, I really don't feel like typing right now. I could type you an entire essay on that, but nah. Just answer my first question, impress me with your answer...

Hmm... it's a hard one for me. For example, freshman year of high school I realy didn't know anyone at school, but my best friend lived right across from me (he was in 8th grade though).

I'd had to say freshman year, high school wise, but other than that... been about the 'same.

Mine would have to be 6th Grade, only the beginning though cause I had just moved to a new city and didn't know anyone.

Actually, on another forum I go on, we have this thing: "Realist talk" (Sounds kinda lame) Plus it's my alias there. But basically I just say the plain facts. "Real"-ist.?

Now that you made me explain it, it makes me think it's a stupid alias. :(

all throughout high school I liked to study organic chemistry, abstract algebra, and symbolic logic in my spare time. i'm sure you can guess what kind of social life i had.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.

Nah, actually I like the name. I was figuring you considered yourself a person who looks at things in a realistic way; I just wanted to hear it from you. But don't be afraid to adorn those facts with your own colorful opinion, that is, in an apporpriate fashion. :)

EDIT: *looks at post below* Thanks, but let's not get this thread too off-topic...bed time for me anyway. Doing five hours of homework isn't good for anyone.

I was very antisocial from kindergarten to about 8th grade. That's when I moved to a new school and had a reason to make friends. The people at my old school were just... eewww... I'd never go back there.

Hehe , kindergarten :).

I'd have to take back what I said, I probaly was the most "anti-social" from 1st to 5th grade. I mean, I had friends I talked to at school and stuff, but never did much out of school.

6th - 8th grade I had a lot of fun, hung out with some great friends, and then I moved in 9th grade. Durring 9th grade I did meet a great friend (even after being in seperate countries, for a year he was in the states me germany, we still managed to keep in touch online, quite often)

10th grade I met a couple of friends, and had a preaty good year (did a lot of stuff).

Than 11th-12th grade have been preaty good. :D . Who knows what will happen next year though, college >__>.

Hmm, probably 7th grade. In 7th grade, all my friends from 1-6 grade made it clear that we were no longer friends.. for reasons unknown to me :? . In 6th grade they all started to get girlfriends, which I thought was stupid (I mean come on.. 6th grade?), then I turn my head for a minute and boom, no longer friends.

Probably my freshman year of high school. Honestly, I can't even remember what I did in my free time that year... Or even what friends I had. It's just a blur.

Probably 7th grade, stopped hanging out with my friends for most of that school year.

10th grade. Not sure why, but I didn't really feel like talking to many people. My grades dropped also. :?

Hmm, a good question. I enjoyed my time from kindergarten to 5th grade, I think, can't really remember now. But 6th grade made me really unsocial with the people at school, because I had just switched from an English school to a Swedish school, with a new language to learn and it was hard to make friends not knowing a language so well. Plus I'm kinda a shy person, so it made everything even harder.

In 7th-9th grade I had a group of friends of like 6 people in my class, but I totally withdrew myself from the rest of the class, because I seriously hated the people in my class. They were the type that destroyed stuff and smoked and drank and bullied people to be "cool".

Now in high school I'm much more social, and I do stuff outside school with people, and life's pretty ok at the moment :)

Thanks for the sig, Runesmithie :)

Senior in High school I was so anxious to graduate, I would hardly ever go hang out. I was working so much and preparing for college, I didn't really have time to be social.

I've only been social for 2-3 years, never needed alot of friends, I've got some friends that tell me everything and stuff (which I think that they see me as one of there best friends I guess), but I don't tell alot about meself to other people.

Seriously? I had the most fun in senior year.

I'm generally a person who spends free time mainly on my own. To some this is considered Antisocial. I do socialise but just enjoy being on my own a lot. I suppose my 'antisocial' time was at the beginning of senior school, but over time, antisocial has worked it's way into a balance of socialising but still keeping myself to myself. Anyway I'm rambling so I'll stop :)

Yeah my senior year was terrible, I took 6 AP classes, was playing my trumpet in a couple bands, working, and playing school football and intramural basketball. All in all it was a stressful year. But now my life is a breeze I am taking a semester off, trying to get ready for church mission that will last for 2 years.

Haven't had it come up yet.

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

In 4th grade (but only for like, 2 months), is when I was least social, because it was a completely different town. But now I'm such a social butterfly :D

all throughout high school I liked to study organic chemistry, abstract algebra, and symbolic logic in my spare time. i'm sure you can guess what kind of social life i had.
oh the irony in your name

as for me, my social life is lowest right now. naturally, i am a shy person, and im not very outgoing about making friends. instead, i hang out with the people who somewhat aggressively show that they want me to be their friend (not like grr, be my friend or die sorta thing if u get what im saying). im also kind of an outcast...i like to be alone sometimes, and im fine and happy living like that. i also happen to be completely different than most people at my skool...picking vivaldi over green day  , and the such. the only difference between my school and most people's school is that our math department is like hte best in the state, so being good at math is actually good for your social life  , then again, i go to a preppy clique school

so pretty much, this is my least social point in life because of how i look at my friends. my friends are few in number, but i know that they care about me, and i think thats better than having a bunch of friends who hang out with u only when theres nobody better to hang out with.
