March 16, 200620 yr Bubsa, I thought I was the only one. Everyone at my school seems to watch it (save a few) which put me off immediately. But eventually I decided to bite the bullet and watch it with the promise of sun and hot girls. Well yeah, there is, but it's all so sickly it's unbelievable. They're all good looking characters/actors living in California in massive houses having pool parties and walks on the beach at sunset all the time and they all have loaded parents. Sickly, really sickly. I agree about the music, I can't bear to hear that song by Phantom Planet anymore. It's just all too commericialised. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

March 17, 200620 yr I enjoy watching the O.C, i personally really like the starting song... I dont care about the acting really....you can cry if the characters dont give you a buzz inside or you can go off and watch Schlinders List, your choice. The show is a form of entertainment obviously not going to be enjoyed by everybody...beleive it or not not everyone in the world is American, im sure alot of people, myself included find the show appealing because it gives us a kind of insight into american culture. That's not really American culture though :\ that's a tiny subsection of American culture. The bad stuff is ignored, and never seen. I think America's Most Wanted or Cops is a better insight into what American culture really is.
