You decided to wear mystic robes whilst fishing, you noticed that you were getting more because you in fact got a few sharks faster than usual because of the blind luck/random chance of getting a shark. Coupled with the fact that you are wearing mystic robes you gather the idea that these mystic robes are actually beneficial to you. Hundreds of experiments have been done like this and they all have similar conclusions, if you give someone a suggestion and others agree with this suggestion with no actual effect being displayed you will begin to notice the suggestion is becoming true even if it only occurs once in a while. It's similar to this weeks Tip.it Times how many people notice Jagex's common banning but not their helpfulness towards their players.

I dont know - ever since Ive been wearing robes (all day basically) Ive seen a difference.. maybe its just me - I dont know. So Im conducting this experiment, it should tell more less if there is the slightest chance mystic robes can increase the rate of fishing. April 2, 200620 yr My guess is you get more fish per hour because you wear lighter garments which don't force you to walk. With the average agility level and full rune most people would have to walk at some part of a normal catherby "spot hunt". Mystic robes are simply a lot lighter and you get to run for a lot longer thereby maximizing the time spent fishing as opposed to banking or spot hunting. April 3, 200620 yr off topic, sorta. I've noticed that using a weapon with a high crush attack equipped increases my mining speed (esp. on gem rocks). Try it with a mystic lava or fire battle, (which both give good crush bonuses), or a dragon spear... I have no hard evidence to this, but I really notice a difference. Has there been another thread on this topic? (no flaming please.) April 3, 200620 yr Eating a piece of cheese, then cooking a raw chicken while holding 23 eggs in your inventory, then directly after doing the dance emote 5 times, i have found helps and does... absoloutly nothing for you. Trying to use a raw chicken on the KQ, then dancing 10 times while trying to eat raw chicken while having a bronze dagger on you trying to cut the chicken with the dagger.. doesn't do anything much either. Seriously its in your head. Pier pressure? I can just see you being threatened by a wharf or jetty because you're a teleporter. Yes, I can see a large wooden wharf uprooting itself from the shore, walking over to you and slapping you in the back of the head for teleporting.:lol:

April 3, 200620 yr heh did you notice every1 started using the robes AFTER they heard this? no1 tried to NOT use the robes after this and notice a decrease in fish :P this leads to believe that the increase of fish might also be connected to an increase in lvl hmm? or just (probably) superstition :P Jeebe's RuneScape Tools
