Okay Fellow Barrowers...

I was readin a post a while back and people where talking about everyone submitting their querries to Customer support about Kill count and how it effected your drops. So I did and this is what was returned.

I did a search for Kill count on this board and couldn't find anything, so I created a new post. Please post you replies here or reply with link to that old post.

By the sounds of this reply, Kill count does in fact increase your chances of Rare Barrow items in the chest. What is your interpitation of this response?

(((ABOVE NOW CONTRIDICTED on last page of post....)))

First to say I stand corrected on believing MODS in first place...

Good luck and see at Barrows.... (With 20KC still

Dear Deangut,

Hail adventurer!

Thank you for your query on how the kill count effect your drops in the barrows mini-game.

Although it does not help with the general drops in the barrows mini-game it does help increase your chance of getting some of the rare barrows items in the final barrows chest. This means it is always worth trying to get your kill count as high as possible during the barrows mini game as you may just be in for a nice reward for your slaughter.

May the gods watch over you.

Don't forget to use the RuneScape Knowledge Base to find the answer to your queries quicker.

Yours Sincerely

Mod Dargie

Long time player first time to query on info. My question is on the Barrows Chest and Kill Count. My friends have received different awnsers on this from JageX. (1)Kill Count increases odds of runes (2)Has no effect. We studied the drops and it does seem to help out over the long haul if you have 20-25 KC. We noticed 1 to 14 with 6 KC and 1 to 12 with 20 KC.Can you please shine light on this 4 us?

your wrong. they said kill count has no effect on barrows drops... this has been posted about 1,419,365 times

I suggest you try to read it again

''Although it does not help with the general drops in the barrows mini-game it does help increase your chance of getting some of the rare barrows items''

It says it does not help with the general drops (runes and gp), but it does increase the chance og getting the rare barrow items.

ummm... Did I read it wrong or something? It says it doesn't help with drops in mini game.. DUH the monsters don't drop anything... but it says it does help with the rares... I read this 5 times before I posted....

Also, I know this has been posted 1,000,000,000,000 times, but again this is a game of hidden updates and things always change... I would imagine they would change this due to using the speed technique (killing 6 bro's and runnig to chest, rinse repeat) was driving the rareness (that a word) and value down.

Anyway, that was the response I got on March 30th which is the latest response I have seen. Anyone else recently send in a response?

thanks

Just goes to show how even more out of touch Jagex is with their game. Their workers can't even use their own knowledge base as a source.

When you are in the tombs and crypt, a 'kill count' will appear on the screen. This is for your knowledge, so you can keep track of any brothers or monsters you have killed. Ultimately, you want the kill count to include the six brothers, if you have killed the 6 brothers you stand the best chance of receiving a Barrows item from the chest.

I hate when they do crap like that. CS causes more confusion then anything. And the answer is like two or three clicks away. :?

From the knowledge database: (I'm not good with pics look under burrows minigame).

Notes on the Barrows:

When you are in the tombs and crypt, a 'kill count' will appear on the screen. This is for your knowledge, so you can keep track of any brothers or monsters you have killed. Ultimately, you want the kill count to include the six brothers, if you have killed the 6 brothers you stand the best chance of receiving a Barrows item from the chest.

Further to this, please note that the more brothers you kill, the more you will be 'haunted'. As you continue to spend time in the tombs and crypts, you will see the ghostly faces of brothers that you have killed. When these appear, your prayer is drained by a considerable amount. Hence, the more Barrows Brothers that you have killed, the more faces will appear and the quicker your prayer will go to 0.

I interpret that as just a counter so you know how many brothers you killed.

Edit. ^^ beaten :(

Just another in a string of confusing responses from Jagex. Who is Mod Dargie? I'm only trusting Andrew (or Mark) replies anymore.
yeah alot of the i guess some would say newer mods aren't very reliable.. I would also add paul to the list of trusting people...

Sounds like to me that you must kill all the bros to stand a good chance at getting an item, but it says nothing about monster kc.

trembake... you were about 7 minutes too late with that explanation. If you didn't notice... just two posts up above yours, I provided the same exact quote from the KB.

That last paragraph provides very little info. So I'm assuming you were just including it to further establish that everything is built around killing the brothers.

EDIT: Bloodveld... Its already been established that KC does nothing. It says right in the very quote you made that it is there for knowledge purposes only. Why do you have to keep argueing that point?

I'm trying to be 100% certain. Also, where does it say that kc is for knowledge purposes only?
This is for your knowledge, so you can keep track of any brothers or monsters you have killed.
Kc could still matter but they just wouldn't show it on the screen. What about that? Also, whats the point of a kc "counter" if monster kills mean nothing? I doubt that the majority of the runescape population couldn't remember what brothers they killed.
Ultimately, you want the kill count to include the six brothers, if you have killed the 6 brothers you stand the best chance of receiving a Barrows item from the chest.
In my opinion, this means that if you don't kill all 6 bros, you'll have a bad chance of getting an item, but it says nothing about being affected by monster kc, which could mean that either kc does nothing or that it does do something and jagex wants to keep barrows prices high by convincing people that kc doesn't matter when in reality it is needed to get easy drops. Either way, jagex certainly wants to leave us in the dark, as they have not clearly stated:
Kill count does nothing' date=' discluding getting kc from the brothers[/quote'] or:
Kill count from everything (monsters and brothers) increases your chances of getting items.

So until Paul or Andrew comes out and states a positive stance on this' date=' I'm going with 20ish kc makes a difference.

NOTE: Y2g2003, I have nothing against you, I'm just stating my opinion. [i']Please[/i] don't waste your time starting a flame war, I'm not in the mood. ;)

EDIT: I meant high.

I just sent in a second query, asking them to verify the response they sent me. Drilling them on does kill count in any way effect your chances of rares.

Per the response from the "Runescapes Playerguide or whatever.."

It says for BEST chance kill the brothers. My response from the MOD said it also helps. Do you see the difference???

I am not posting this to say this is the end all response. Also I am not saying that what your response to me are wrong. I am tryin to clarify the long and winding question, what is KC used for.

It sounds like. Killing all 6 bro's (or more) give you best chance. KC does effect your chances as well (Lot less then the brothers)

I will post my response back from the mods soon as I get it.

BEST to me means that you cannot get any better chances of a drop after killing all the brothers, but what ever... guess I'm one of few that have enough common sense to jump to that conclusion (even after its already implied in other statements).

As far as the comment about myself starting a flame war... I never start flame wars regardless of what some of the narrow minded people of this forum may think. I get in my fair share of arguements, only time anything becomes a "flame war" when I'm included in it, is when someone decides to try and insult my intelligence (or make a personal attack). Then yeah... I'll more then likely be on tilt. So Bloodveld... you should be making that comment to yourself... not me. I come here to discuss topics, not start flame wars.

You say that, then make comments like this?
guess I'm one of few that have enough common sense to jump to that conclusion
Meaning I don't have any common sense because I'm looking into it more?

I'm leaving before you flame me back. Thats just pathetic that you have to resort to flaming to prove a point.

Okay I understand your point, but here is how I see it...

I live at barrows... I have kept good records of Killcounts and what drops I recieved. Like some others have noted I seem to have a beter ratio when I get 20-30 KC rather then 6-10.

I am not being simple minded or even trying to say this response was an end of all conversations on KC. I am just replying that what I and many other respecting Barrowers have noticed. That a raise in kill count over time increases your chances... Is this luck? or does KC increase your chances slightly?

Per my Barrows trips and the recent response from the MOD (who isn't a well known MOD) is seems that later of the two is not just a theory.

Again I posted a response to the mods on the reply I got. I hope Some1 else gets this and responds with more info.

You're a funny little thing.

That obviously wasn't a flame. To not have common sense isn't exactly a bad thing.

I also find it funny how you think just because you leave a topic, means I wont bother to reply. You and I both know that you like to always be right, and you'll be back.

In closing, saying I flame is a real foolish statement. You can still be intelligent and lack common sense. So you're claim to that being a flame couldn't be more wrong.

Trembake... as far as you're concerned... rolling your eyes at me with that statement was pretty much uncalled for. Guess I should've added that the more people that make that quote, the merrier.

Should've just refreshed the page before you posted, but I wasn't trying to make a big deal out of it. Whatever.
