Rune essence is being sold as low as 28gp per on the RS forums, red masks are dropping down to 17-18m opposed to the 21-22m they were only weeks ago. Any theories as to why this is happening? My friend used to buy ess for 30 gp, and sell them for 50 gp, and that was only two weeks ago. The value of ess has taken a nose dive thanks to the cheaters. I could buy from 30-35 ea then sell for 40 each, but no one will buy, since most ess buyers are merchanters who seek profits, so they will never buy at 40 gp :? microtosh Posted April 4, 2006 Share Posted April 4, 2006 ess is going down because of two reasons. 1) auto-ers 2) nobody needs so much ess cept for nat crafters and merchanters. and i dont think nat crafters can craft as fast as merchanters buyin ess and all the ess miners mining ess. Rares fluctuate in prices. You should know that by know. I forgive you if you are new to the game. I bought my mask set for 21 mill. Now it's 35 - 39 mill, depends on the time zone. Yes. Red mask WAS 22 mill. But you should know that masks prices will burst suddenly ( due to ppl who claim they are mask hoarders and have been banned and manipulations of the market by sellers). Yet, they will drop after awhile due to the manipulations of the market by BUYERS. However, they never fall back to the price they rose from. =) those who bought them when they were at the peak must have lost alot. they would lose even more if they are not smart enough to keep the mask set and wait for it to rise, regaining their wealth. Example - 200 coal is now around 150. Iron is now around 50-100. So what happened in my absent to cause a major slow down in prices. But anyway, though RS is game, inside the game there are each character trying to make a living selling and buying, and merchant supply and demand...etc. Just like the Stock market! I've been buying ess for 5-15gp ea, and I've seen a lot of people shouting low prices lately. High alchemy should be a lot more profitable if prices keep dropping. I spent 2 hours there one day, and walked away with 2 Half Wines, a Party Hat Set, a Christmas Cracker, a Mask Set, 2 Yo-yos, a Santa and a Scythe.
