CoRnMaN
I honestly don't want to go  . I'm old enough to go.. I just don't want to. First of all I don't know anyone that I would want to go with; I don't like many girls at my school. If I did know someone who I would like to take I would consider going though. Second of all the only reason I would go unless I liked a girl would be to go just so I can say "Yeah I'm going to prom," and not feel like a stereotypical nerd who didn't go to prom in highschool. But I decided I don't care. Third of all, from what I have gathered from other people: -You spend 30 minutes to hours taking pictures, but I guess it depends on how girly the girl is, or how annoying the parents are :D -You have to spend a ton of money, which isn't too big of a deal, but worth noting. -The dancing. I heard at our prom, mostly there are ©rap songs and people dirty dancing most of the time, with the occasional slow dance song, which usually sucks since it might be sung by some crappy artist that teens today love. It just doesn't sound like any fun to me. If I liked someone I would much rather just have a nice evening with just the 2 of us, maybe at a nice restaurant or something like that. That's just my view on prom :? That is exactly what I would have said last week. But I've got a feeling its worth the risk.
ice_ring
Well I went to meet my date's parents last night at a party they were having. Her dad grilled me for like 10 minutes (luckily I have a 4.0 and plan to attend college). I haven't called her yet to see if he completely approves. :x
RoyalKnight
Lol, you should've at least had the guts to ask the girl out yourself. No prom for me til my final year.

weezcake
But the dancing was so fun! I think it was because I, along with everyone else, could not dance. :P ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. runesmithie
Actually it's a suit with a vest or a cumberbund. And it doesn't necessarily have to have a bow tie either... There are a ton of different fashions of tuxes, just go to your local tux shop and check them out :D I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. Fiery_Gyr
I hate prom-party's... Been there once, but everyone got drunk in no time at all. (you're allowed to drink at 16 here) Besides it's so boring. Bad music, too many people and some stupid tiara for the king and queen. I rather die than ever put one of those on my head. Let alone the silly dress I had to wear. Never again for me :?
Anesthesia
Don't proms just single out the people who can't get dates? And before anyone bothers to post suggesting I only mention that because I can't, there has only been one 'prom' in my life and I went with my long term girlfriend. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

It doesn't really single people out, because many people go with best friends or in groups. And before anyone bothers to post suggesting I only mention that because I can't, there has only been one 'prom' in my life and I went with my long term girlfriend. One of my date's best friends got stood up by her date. I danced with both of them, nobody really cared. Prom was very fun for pretty much everyone involved. You don't go to Prom to fulfill some social requirement, you go to have fun. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Anesthesia
My comment was based purely on what I've seen on american TV and films, where a few weeks before 'prom night' its like "omgomgohnoes must get a date for the prom, who r u goin wif? who are u goin wif? i wanna go wif valerie but im too scared to ask lollers!" weezcake
Times have changed. (Though it may make some people much more happy with a date) Or what happens a lot of the time now is people will go with "dates" who are just friends. Then 3 or 4 couples who are all just friends go in a big group together and the "date" part is really only to get cheaper tickets (it's cheaper to buy couples tickets than singles tickets usually). Bloodredsword
My year's prom at school was in 2002. I went with a few mates. It was alright, nothing too special. People kept asking me to go get them drinks because I was one of only a few who were 18 at the time. It was also funny to see the staff getting drunk  LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword.
