Kill_Life
Eum, I never saw this before on any site. Anyways, I just wanna tell you guys this: While I was ranging, on Rapid, my max hit is a 7 with bronze arrows. Tough, on the same lvl, I hitted a 8 on accurate! This means their is a difference between Rapid and Accurate! Just like training attack and strenght! Any other people noticed this? Can't make a pic anymore... it was on 57 ranged, 59 now... Dr_Elephant
I always assumed that using Accurate was sort of like taking extra time to aim so that you could hit more accurately and do more damage with one shot, whereas Rapid was simply like flinging arrows as fast as you can so that the target will take more damage in the barrage. As for Defensive, I don't truly understand that. I'm guessing you're giving up a little accuracy and speed in exchange for Defense XP, but I've never paid that close attention. Unitedite
I've always assumed that 'Accurate' increased your chance of hitting, while 'Rapid' increased your number of shots. ie, that they'd both have the same max hit. Are you sure you don't have a max hit of 8 with Rapid, you've just not seen it much? tintmangbpack
That is interesting and it makes sense why it would be this way. I would recommend sending a query into Jagex and ask them if it really is that way. That really is the only way to know how it works. The rest of us here can just speculate. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.

Unitedite
Ah well, guess i was wrong. It's interesting that tip.it didn't pick up on this when making the ranged max hit calc. Soem people did some special parts... Not really one person made 1. So all of them maybe all just did accurate? dymed
I can confirm a higher max hit with Accurate over Rapid. However, it's still better exp per time to be fighting on Rapid. And the max hit only raises by one, and I'm pretty sure only on certain levels, not always.

lordrex
i tought everybody knew this... i can hit 13s with steel from ranged 90 on accurate but on ranged 91 on rapid i still hit max 12s (with steel arrows) "accurate" the word means enough for me "rapid" just fire arrows fast,... while u count aim that good... rsname: lord rex.december 2011: ranked 107th best f2p playermarch 2012 became member. Kill_Life
Certainly not everybody knows this! Most people think (like i did) you just hit MORE with accurate and not HIGHER. And on Accurate my max is 8! you are correct sir, just as with, training strenght you may hit +1 more then normally. while training attack, you may hit more frequently, and with defense you not get hit as much and the reason i believe you hit 1 less on rapid then accurate is, whats the point of training on accurate if rapid is the same power. Goobore
Players have known about the +1 to max hit while in accurate mode for a long time now. Although it is strange that Tip It doesn't say anything in their Range guide about it...

Indizle
People have known of the difference for a long time, and it does make sense, as people pointed out. Also, I haven't confirmed this, but apparently if you range on rapid you loose more arrows than with accurate. But then, maybe whenever I was ranging I had bad luck. Or perhaps the increased speed made it seem like I was loosing more, while in reality I was loosing the same percentage of arrows, just faster. desipardesi
Ranging on accurate hits 1 higher than on rapid only when you are close to the level where the max hit changes. I think the max hit on accurate rises about 1 or 2 levels before the max hit rises on rapid mode. At least thats what I had noticed. In any case, ranging on accurate is a waste of time and the only times I have done it are by accidentally failing to switch to rapid mode after logging in . Also, on members, the mage bow special has a max thats same as the max hit of accurate mode even if you are ranging in the rapid mode. # 1101 to 99 range on 12-18-0585 slayer on 12-18-05 with combat at 102; retired from members since Feb 06.Back since June 07. 2000+ total.
