Why Runecrafting Blows

There was a time where one could buy essence for 45-50 each.

 

 

 

People endlessly crafted nature runes and sold them for 400 each.

 

 

 

The abyss came out, natures were still 400 gp each for the first two weeks. Some people made massive profits out of them, until natures later fell to 300 gp due to the high supply of them and the rise in flax/bow string prices.

 

 

 

Then Jagex decide to split essences. Pure essence on p2p, rune essence on f2p.

 

 

 

Pure essence price remains at 50 gp for the first 2 weeks or so, rune essence falls to about 15-20 gp each. All is still good, people are runecrafting with 250 gp profits while making nats.

 

 

 

2 weeks later - BOOM! Everyone has run out of pure essence stocks. Hardly anyone on p2p is mining pure essence. Prices skyrocket to 100gp+ per rune essence. One may think "ok essences have risen, hopefully runes rise"

 

 

 

Natures remain at 300 each, Deaths remain at 280 each.

 

 

 

Runecrafting has officially been ruined as a huge money making stat.

 

 

 

Even with 91 rc, one can only make 600-700k profit per hour, in comparison to the old value of around 900k-1 million gp profit per hour.

 

 

 

Sure it still seems like a lot, truth is if you look at the different of a month of RCing nats 2 hours a day, you get 36m profit per month (at 91 rc, 18m profit per month with less than 91) compared to 54 million profit per month (at 91 rc, 27m profit per month with less than 91).

 

 

 

These drops are phenomenal.

 

 

 

So my question to you is, will rune prices go up? Will P2Pers have to start mining their own rune essence? Will runecrafting die down to a dormant status?

I actually wonder WHY nature prices haven't gone up yet. It seems extremely hard now to buy any amount of them. Few days ago needed 10k for alchemy and after hours and hours of searching forums and jumping between serv1 and 2 market hobbies I mustered...5k. Maybe I was unlucky not to find any, but before(6 months ago when I last time played) people were selling MASSES of them at all times. :?

it is too late now to fix it, it will stable out itself in a few months. It would just cause a bunch of other problems if they changed it back now...

 

RC is still good money, if you dont like it find another skill.

Did I cause you to post this? Having 200k pure ess banked I love that the ess price is rising, and I believe eventually it will cause the price of runes to go up to even out the profits to where they were at before.

 

 

 

As the ess price rises it becomes more valuable than flax for a task much easier in my opinion to flax picking.

 

 

 

It's just that members don't want to waste their time mining ess. I see them paying 150 some time soon, ill then sell my 200k ess and make a huge profit after buying what I have for 27 ea:-).

 

 

 

RCings profit has been nixed for those who dont have ess. The days of people power leveling Rc are over. Those that don't believe me are still living off old ess. Things are goign to get interesting once their banked ess runs out.

Well I have just stopped power levelling RC at 73 rc, I was doing the world 66 law business. Now, it is folly and useless really. I'm paying 2700 gp for 256.5 rune crafting xp. 10 gp per experience point. I need 5m xp to level 91, I don't want to pay 50 mil to get 91 runecrafting. I'm going back to natures now, even though the profits are small and I'm probably better off at abyssal demons again :cry:

My answer to your question of rc will die is a huge no. As long as people are using high alching as a means to lvl magic quickly and safely there will still be a high demand for nats. Same goes for people using cammy tele for exp, there will still be a need for law runes.

 

 

 

I too was suprised that the price of runes didn't fluxuate with the changing ess price after jagex split it into pure and regular...but many rc'ers my still have a large stash of pure ess in their banks, or maybe they actually go and mine their own rather than paying the high price for ess and saving their profits. I think that eventually you will either see the price for runes go up, or the price for pure ess come back down, one or the other will happen...but rc most definately will not die

Prices have risen from 50-60 gp 15 hours ago to 80-100 gp now.

Banshees drop 13 pure ess noted, gargoyles drop 30 pure ess noted and Abby demons drop 60 pure ess noted... as long as ppl will train slayer, we'll have an influx of pure essence without mining them for 5 xp per ess. I'm pretty sure Jagex will implement these drops to other monsters in the coming weeks.

Langer I'm 85 slayer and I spend most of my time at abyssals. I've accumulated 50k pure essence in 4 months.

 

 

 

I've used them 50k essences in 5 days making laws.

 

 

 

Now I have none, nobody has any.

i'm also 85 slayer, i have 35k pure ess ... all from drops. I didn't know you could spend essence this fast... i'm 51 Rc and I don't like the skill. I'm not saying getting essence this way is quicker... just saying it's an alternative and maybe Jagex will implement other pure essence drops via monsters. I understand some people are angry at seeing their profit margin being reduced, but I guess it's a small price to pay to get rid of autoers making money on Ebay. I'll bet Jagex will come up with other ways to get pure essence in the next weeks, in the meantime, RCers should fing other skills to train while nats and laws RCing is not as profitable as it was.
