Have you ever had one of those nerdy moments?

Featured Replies

I was playing Halo 2 and we were playing on Coagulation, we had just started the match and lately the other team had been rushing us and stealing our ghosts instead of going after our flag for some reason. So, we decided to blow the Ghosts up at the beginning of this match. I heard one of the players yell "Shoot the fuel tank!" and me being a totally nerd yelled back "Oh my gawd, its a battery not a fuel tank, you noob!" after that I felt awfully bad about calling him a noob and about sounding like a total geek.

Share your nerdy moment so we can all get a good laugh in!

Er, well, yesterday, when someone asked me to bluetooth a song to them from my phone, forgetting who I was with, I turned around and said: "Sorry, I can't, it's DRM protected".

That seemed to get a few laughs...for a few seconds.

I answered the office phone today and said Good Afternoon.

Only problem was that is was 9am.

My client on the end of the phone suitable took the michael.

I think I've had some movie-geekness moments with a few ignorant children, educating them about movie history.

Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

Once, my friend was being an idiot, so I called him a noob. I also used the word "Elite" and "leet" in an acrostic poem.

The same thing happens with me all the time because most of my friends have really poor taste in films :?

He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart,

and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

In conversation, I make Morrowind/Oblivion references all the time.

Like, "You better pray to Kynareth that my CD doesn't have a scratch on it."

That's not nerdy in the least bit, infact now it's pretty much hitting the other side of the spectrum, "trendy".

You made 2 spelling mistakes: 'peopel' and 'al'

You made countless grammar mistakes

I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.

I didn't say it out loud, but I was in school and wanted to tell someone that I had to leave and go to my locker, I almost said "See ya, I gotta go bank," but right before it came out I realized it and said "See ya, I gotta go to my locker." Still, I was a little shocked at myself that the former thought even entered my head.

Girl: Umm whered that come from?

My whole life is a nerdy moment.

My nerdiest? Possibly when I brought my GameBoy Advance SP to the overnight at my (Unitarian) church, just so I could use the built-in light to read my Russian grammar book in the dark.

Or could it be when I was weightlifting with my French-English dictionary?

I love languages.

J'adore les langues.

Yes, but most are ipods, and any nerd would know not to get an ipod :P . Also i wear my mp3 on my waist using a holder it came with, and when not in use, i clip the earphones to my shirt (i hate buds, they annoy me, i only like the clips)

Here it goes... But don't laugh at my love for Pokemon.

I was watching a little Pokemon... As you do. Then something sad happened. And I almost cried. It was a sentual moment.. I didn't actually cry, but I was close.

I told my girlfriend about it the next day as a conversation starter, she laughed and gave me a funny look.

The next day, after school, me and her went to her house to watch a movie before going out. We were sitting there and she had a tear in her eye, I asked "What's wrong?" and she just replied with "The film... It's sad... Don't you think?"... Me.. Being "the man" had no feelings towards the film whatsoever, so I just said "Not really, she's just a bit unlucky", referring to the movie. Then my girlfriend got up, gave me a funny look and said "Holy... Mitch... You're a geek. You'd cry on Pokemon, but you wouldn't cry on this?!" ... I just stared blank and laughed.

I could carry on with other geeky/nerdy things, but you'd most likely get bored with the length of the post. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâì_̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâì

 Yesterday my friend was playing Everquest 2 and this guy summoned an "Airy stalker" (for those who dont play its just an invisible ninja thing) and it disappeared out of no where. So, the guy says "0h n03s! My @iry st4lk3r di3d!" and my friend goes "Well I think summoned monsters never had a soul so therefore can't die. So, what you just stated is physically impossible." When he told me that I was like  what on Earth was that supposed to mean.
