The good old days

Well, it has been over 2, perhaps even 3 years since i last visited these forums, i have been playing world of warcraft since it released in shops and decided to get back to some old runescape memories when i got bored =)

 

 

 

- The 1000 player peak

 

- That same peak when there were the amazing 3(!) world servers!

 

- Bluerose13x being the first to reach 99 smithing

 

- The first rune square shields (by bluerose) being sold for 200k, back then the same amount as about 30mil or something now (havent checked prices in years :P)

 

- Runescape 2

 

 

 

 

 

Well to say what were my up and down points in runescape i'd like to start with tip.it , back in the day when the treasure trails first came out i made a huge guide with the help of many many others which got stickified and was a huge succes, though after checking the trails today i noticed not much has changed actually, a few got added and a few new rewards.

 

 

 

-The transition from runescape 1 to 2 was not only surprising, but at first a bit disapointing, runescape 1 (referred to as classic) had that kind of magic that 2 did not have, but you got used to it after a few weeks.

 

 

 

-At lvl 30 attack i managed to get hold of the rare rune sword, and just a few days after i did, they put the rule in of having 40 for rune -_-

 

 

 

I can't even remember most of my friends here in runescape, and i bet they can't remember me either, it was just a nice post and i saw how much of a growth runescape has been through, when i last played with peaks of about 20k players, i now noticed it's nearing 200k!

 

 

 

I hope you guys/girls enjoy this game as much as i did those last years, i was a member and also saw a few new skills introduced to this game, from the level cap, to thieving.

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways, i know it hasnt been a quite constructive post, probably a very messy post, but i've never been good at that.

I remember reading someone's post about they'd explode if they saw another good old days post and thought aww crap. Clicked this link and saw it wasn't the same thing lol. Anyway, yes rsc did have a magic to it and I remember everything you've talked about except I came after rune was released. and according to your joined date, about 2 years ago was when you first came to these forums(i know after scapeboard thing, you prolly were earlier) so its prolly been less then 2 years, which is still a long time, i spose.

No, he wasn't, Both Bluerose13x and Musashi22 were before him (could have been another, but I can't remember).

 

The list in his interview just shows which 99s he personally got first... 99 Smithing being his first 99 skill.

Zezima wasnt even "famous" back then, bluerose, musashi, dmonk, a few others and that was it... you only had a 100man highscore anyway

Yeh I can remember Tks being number 1 overall for quite a while when I was a low level. I can remember kites being 500k which was a huge amount back then and rune 2 hands being around 1 million gp each.

 

 

 

I remember one trade where someone tried to sell me a white party hat and a rune 2 hand and asked for 1 million for both, funny thing was is that the party hat was worth 100k and the r2h was worth the other 900k. 1 million was too much for me back then though.

this just brings back so many memories to the good old days....... I remember starting up with a group of friends from school and we all took different jobs, i being the miner of the group and spending heaps of time mining and smithing.......

 

 

 

I miss now how everything was so new back then, and everything was so intriguing and interesting. I even remember getting into the Champion's Guild and acting like it was such a big thing having that godly blue cape, and then defeating elvarg at only level 36, i even have the pic somewhere from that day.......

 

 

 

ahhhh, i miss the old days of runescape classic, even more so the fact that i stopped playing just before party hats came out :cry: ahh well, that's life for ya

All true, but you have to know, the runescape community has become very bad, people are greedy, only caring about themselves, look at the wilderness, people pj/pray/tag/run/tele..

I don't think Zezima was first to get 99 in any skill, unless he got it in one of the newer p2p skills. Definately none of the original skills.

noobdy is gonna believe me so i don't know why i'm posting this lol...

 

 

 

but yeah, me and my bud SSJ4 were among the first 5 to beat the dragon slayer quest, would have been first and second if there wasn't a glitch in the boat's hole that slowed us down 2 - 3 hours... and i still have the rune plate, making it one of the first plates in the game

 

 

 

I also helped MysticsMagic get to 70 crafting (first person to make it there) and ended up with the seventh diamond amulet in the game (which I still have)

 

 

 

I also spent my entire bank (minus the rares) on 3 rune ore, and mined 800 gold bars to get a rune battle axe when only blue could smith it

 

 

 

but yeah, the good old days were awesome, i remember on april 1 2001 there was an april fools joke, or just a hack attempt to someone get into the player house area, people thought they were opening and waited in varrok, little did we know we'd have to wait 5 more years for the player houses lol....

 

 

 

the days of only lumbridge/varrok/al kharid, good and evil magic skills, prayer having no ability at all, chefs hats costing 2k when teh guild came out (which is like 40 million with today's prices), days of pile jumpers, pking everywhere, healing in the cabbage patch, meat being the only good food.... i could go on forever.

 

 

 

WOw typed more than i thought i would, but yeah i've been playing since January 2001 and can post a lot more stories/screens from the past if anyone is actually interested in the ramblings of an old runescape man

On the Zezima note, I believe the only skill he was first to get 99 in was Slayer, and even there I'm not 100% sure.

 

 

 

And you're right, RS2 is definitely missing the magic spark RSC had.

you know i was never around for rsc. but reading this makes me wish i was... but man i love rs2 but i hate... the... god...damn...community! i have always tried to be nice to people for that.
