What do you do when you're down.

I mean really, in a depressed mood. Yes I know I'm posting this on a forum but I need to get away from everyone else around me. They act like they just don't care about me. I'm just not here. Then later they ask what's wrong. It's stupid for me to worry about this. Life carries on but I hate feeling like this. It's all the same routine at the of the day.

 

 

 

I am alone. I normally don't see my close friends much at all this time of year. Summer has always been a lonely season for me, everyone else is off doing their own thing. No one to really worry about me here. :(

 

 

 

I've been just sitting here listening to Sad Song by Oasis non stop. Not fun. Feeling sorry for myself, which is just stupid. But when I do talk to my close friends, well.. they always seem to make me feel worse. I can't tell them this either. I..

If your friends make you feel bad, then they are not your friends.

 

 

 

The only thing I can advise you is, meet new people. Turn your computer off because a computer is not going to help you. Get on a team sport or something, go to pubs, whatever.. do something, make something out of your life.

 

Sitting down and feel bad about yourself isn't going to bring you anywhere.

They've been good to me in the past though. I don't know what to do. I can't really imagine life without them. =/ And by the way, I do go to pubs. They do bring funny times but eh. I'm just in a sad mood...

Ok. I don't know you, and I don't know anything about what you're going through. Chances are nobody here does, unless you have some RL friends here, and from your post it doesn't sound like it. I've dealt with depression in the past, and I can give you some advice if you need it, but I need to know more. Maybe PM me or something.

 

 

 

That said, however, I don't think we're the ones you should be talking to. Maybe a councelor would help. I know they helped me. Also, if you've been feeling down for a long time (several months or more) then it could be medical, and you should see a doctor.

 

 

 

Please, for the love of the gods, if you have any desire to do something crazy talk to someone. Family, friends (I know you said you can't talk to them, but have you really tried? It's amazing what friends will understand when you just tell them what's up.), teachers, anyone you feel you can reach out to.

One of the only reasons I posted this here was because I needed away from everyone that surrounds me. Talking to family... It really isn't much of an option at all. As for friends I just talked to one of them right now. I'm feeling a little better but... I don't know.

I know what you are going through, I have had some really down bits recently in my life. I would say try to find something new and fun to do and then really try to master it, it will take up your time and should help bring you back up. Also make sure it is something you have fun doing because you don't want to get frustrated and make it worse.

 

 

 

I would also say exercise, I know it sounds dumb but if you do it enough you will be happier with your body, and when you exercise your body releases endorphins which will naturally make you feel better.

 

 

 

Also just talking about it with people will help, I wouldn't say toss your computer just make sure you limit your use because while it can be nice you need to make sure you are more active in your real life then you virtual one.

Definitly turn off the computer. Cook something, keep yourself active. Bake some cakes or summit

I got pretty depressed about two years ago. I wont say why but I just gritted my teeth and pulled through it. I was really bad for about two months, no close friends, no activities, no fun. But when I got back to school I livened up again. My best advice is go to a friends house or ring them up and talk it out. Talking to friends when your down can be pretty hard I know but you should feel better for it. And if you keep on listening to Oasis you might end up going loopy.

Well depending on how old you are, maybe go on some vacations somewhere that is hot and has a beach, you'll usually find lots of party and fun times and time will soar by. Myabe a summer camp? Some are really neat :o.

 

 

 

If not, just exercise, work out, start a diet get ripped and your self esteem will soar up to sky. Shop, sport, party, work out, chill and play rs and do something like pking or staking :wink:

i know what you're talking about. (just happened to me last week, it ended up me leaving hanging out with another friend. my friends and i talked about it and everything is fine now.)

 

 

 

how close are you with your "friends"? and you know what, you have their number you can call them. tell them that you do want to hang out with them and that it's rubbish that you don't see each other all summer.

 

your friends do care about you. don't shut yourself out.

 

if you are out and you feel that they don't give you enough attention then go and get that attention.

 

 

 

you make your own luck and talking always helps

Well if I'm down I go out and shoot some hoops (play basketball). I am not particularly good but trying to hone my shot takes my mind off things until I come up with a solution to my problems.

All of my friends but one or two left me for a game. World Of Warcraft.

 

 

 

Anyways, my few friends left are my real friends I suppose.

 

 

 

I always listen to good music. Try Dragonforce (High tempos, 'happy lyrics'), Pat Metheny Group (Lively Jazz Instrumentals)

 

 

 

Otherwise I just get over it, I still talk to my WoW addicted friends. Somewhere sometime you're bound to seperate from your friends because of alternate interests and whatnot. Find some new ones. (With the exception of my grandma, her childhood friend lives with her -.-)

ehm, yeah exercising is a good one, try to find a new hobby like: soccer, tennis, running (personal favorite, almost everyday like 5miles and youll feel very strong) or something different like playing guitar (alot of fun!!).

 

and also download some good music.

or anything of Phil Collins, you might know him.

When I feel down, I usually just talk to a friend to see if they can help cheer me up. If that doesn't work, I analyze what's wrong, what's making me down, and I try to either change it, convince myself that what I'm thinking is stupid (which most of the time it is. I get down over some pretty menial things.), or I just forget about it.

 

 

 

I usually just listen to some soothing music, or try to find something good on TV, or play a video game.

 

 

 

Or, (and this is great) I play with my pets. We have a small dog that stays with us inside the house, and throughout my house, we have a wood floor, so I chase the little dog around the house with a broom. :twisted: It makes me laugh really hard, it's fun, and it's kinda like getting revenge on the dog since it bites my feet all the time. :lol:

 

 

 

If I'm REALLY EXTREMELY bored and down, and there's nothing else to do, I play RS and laugh at some of the things the noobs say to me. That's always a great way to pass the time.

just dont do anything rash. like hurting yourself. it doesnt sound like you are or are planning to, but i thought id just say its not a good idea.

 

 

 

people have ups and downs. currently im at a down point kind of like you. just weather it out, and (hopefully) it gets better.
