Featured Replies

You're uncovrd? That's nice to know... since so many of you idiots changed your name. :P

Yeah, I took a long break for a while there, so I wouldn't know about that in between time. ;) You do good work though, no doubt about that. ;)

Lol i think those top 10 are actualy correct.

Old school works might probably look ugly compared with today's ones, but for the times they were outstanding, and opened many paths that are still followed.

Lmao :P

I'd have to say i had some mixed "idols" back then. I was a fan of Uncovrd work back then, and also a fan of witty's work, which was kind of a wild ride. (Ask anyone, we have the bigest 2 person history around on the forums lol)

I can't belive i forgot about dromar uk ( )too :D He pioneered the animation sig's (true animation sigs) and was awsome for that.

My list is kind of like Kiephs, but i also put on people that i thought were a help to others, for example Tttia and IDPUP are always glad to help with sig makers, noob or not. Heck, even Keiph helped me out with my space scenes a few months ago :)

if i was going on just pure style i would probaly add on Kaneso (*shivers*) and Witty fool. I just don't think that in a whole they helped out the comunity unlike others that helped build some of the newer sig makers.

Also heres another thing to add to this post, what do you think was some of the bigest topics ever in scape history, it can be the massive sales of Uncovrds old old old style, Azvy's free sig rampage, my... *shakes head* bouts between me and witty, or anything, Recent or not.

ps: I love these kind of posts, they always bring back good memorys lol :P

I do agree with a lot that's being said here. Great sig makers go beyond just the sigs they make, their influence on the community makes a big difference.

As for that comment made by (the_jeppoz?) I disagree, some of those older sigs still own any recent sigs. Witty had some amazing work.

Another interesting point to bring up would be great sig makers of the different sig making "ages" I guess you could seperate the ages by years, grouped by differnt fads/phases (for example we are in the pixel phase right now  darn pixels lol)

A while ago, modeling was big. I remember being inspiered from different modelers to work in bryce and try and make a mace (lol it was odd) but anyone remember the old modeling contest a while ago.

Another person we could mention is the guy who worked on the Hellfire project (i forget his name) . however, if we were to group the top 10 by recent active sig makers (I.E. keiph , witty, alot of older sig makers arn't as active, if at all. or are in other places) The list would be serriously different. It would knock out a lot of the older, experianced people on the list off it, and let room for newer people.

I'm not sure what were gunna see in the future (maybe another model revolution, who knows?) Or maybe some new kid is gunna come and knock us all down on our wagons, or maybe Witty or someone will comeback from the grave (or so to speak) and start a new revolution.

Anyways, just my thoughts on it :D

Oh man, I remember that guy. That was some pretty hot work he was doing...had a movie and everything.

As for the modelling thing, wasn't there a big competition for best weapon or something? I think I remember everyone making maces and such..I didn't post back then though. Just viewed

I really like Astra because he's really good at photograpy and i really like photography

Ha ha Nadril, i remember the modeling period. That was a big pain in the [wagon]. I remember having to work forever to get something right. I remember i had a mace war competition with some prizes, ironicly i tied for first (which wasnt suppose to happen, kinda weird). And then i remember that one axe thing that witty made when he was temp banned for like a week for pissing to many people off, it was sweet. I think i still have some stuff.......... gota look around.

ya i remember all those old sigmakes, my favorite sig ever is probably that one that witty had with that rune mace that he made... ah the good ol' days... none of the old sigmakers remember me tho lol... i used to log on alot on the nickname runeqtip, although that was actually my brothers, but he never used lol.

Heck, even Keiph helped me out with my space scenes a few months ago

Dude... aside from Tttia I was probably the most helpful person in media board history... I helped everyone all the time, and helped write alot of tutorials and guides... You make it sound like I never help anyone... I think I have an MsN list of about 40 people who just ask me photoshop questions all day, even to this very day... Not jumping on you BTW, just clearing that up. :P I think the reason that maybe you didn't see this was because I'm good at being helpful AND an [wagon] at the same time.

I started doing then 3D bevels, and then Wyrm came along with the Bryce weapons... Then people started getting a bit into bryce... Then the big abstract thing came out... Mostly started with Azvareth and DromarUK and their difference-gradient-layer-blend-mode-backgrounds.... I started getting into those "tech" signatures that were cutouts and stuff, and that hit big for a while... I stopped doing them and then so did everyone else. I'm such a trendsetter. Come to think about it, I remember starting up isometric pixel art here. I posted a building or something that I did. Before that, nobody had heard of pixel art. If they had, they didn't mention it, or do it. Now look at it. Another point for me. We also can't forget the photoshop tennis. I can't remember who introduced that but I think his name was Keiphus. Yeah, it was. Game, Set, Match. Keiphus. Haha. Everyone bow to me. After I sleep tonight I will probably remember more reasons why I am so cool.

Haha. Sorry... It's late and I'm having a good day so I thought I would bump this post and share some of my ideas of how great I am. :-P

Hellfire was a movie project by a young and talented modeller who called himself G-Strider. I think he's been off to college the past year.

And yes, Nad, this does bring back some nice memories.

havent been making sigs for about 8 months and i just came back to this forum. its cool to see all you old sigmakers still around

i reckon 'trixter' should b in there she's an oldy aswell here's an example of what she did: trixterssig.gif

i've been trying to follow in his or her footsteps for ages and i'm getting close.

Most of the old-schoolers were remembered, but not me. Maybe I didnt make that large an impression, but I was there most of the time. Now, I might aswell say that I am coming back, so hope you all are ready. I'm working on a pretty new style, which might shake most people that simply don't understand the art of creation.

I'll be showing a few sigs as soon as i get them finished, to create an sort of 'gallery' :D

Plus, one of the greatest sig makers alive are probably Huang, Azv, Tttia, Froth, Witty and Keiphus :D

Too bad most of those big names filling those top 10s are no more artisticaly active on this board than my old granny when sleeping.

Could be nice to see some of their works these days.

Else...

this whole thread is a pretty pointless history lesson filled up with some realy big Ego shots.

In other words...follow 1337 example, come out your heavenly10 feet from ground resort...get back to work guys, or at least show us your most recent works. Good stuff is always welcome.

IMO at least.
