F2P using Report Abuse

I don't know which this belong in, General, Help/Advise, or Rant. Please move if it isn't right place.

 

 

 

I have made several Report in my entire time playing RS, (from beginning level 3 to level 83). I don't know the count, but I believe I reported more than 20 times, but I have never been praised by JAGeX, not a single message. I have no idea if they are looking at my reports, or they are ignoring me. I think they should look at my report, because I have made some excellent Report Abuse. Such like in my last few reports was #1 offense language, with people bypassing "F" words using "|{", and macroer, I be sure to chat to level 3 fisher "hello, are you macroer?" and they don't respond for long time.

 

 

 

I don't know what to do, I'm asking you guys because I can't go to JAGeX board and ask if I'm doing good job or should I continue reporting or what...

 

 

 

Should I keep reporting or forget it? Let me know, thanks.

You know, they're are a 400,000 people doin what you're doing, Jagex cant remember every single one. Keep reporting.

You think 20 times is much? I must've reported about 200 times and I got a message from Jage about 3 times, saying that they will take action against the player or something like that. And don't want to be a mod. Then you will sure never become one. Things happen when you don't expect.

I have reported hundreds of times, and have only been praised by Jagex once, lol. :lol:

 

 

 

You should keep reporting though, they do take action with the accounts you report. I usually tell them when I report them, which causes them to later confront me saying their account was banned, or given a black mark. They usually just use more profanity, which I report some more, lol. The thing is that Jagex can't take the time to send appraisal to everyone who reports an offence, they will praise you when they can. :)

they don't seem to regard what combat level your character is at. With my main Necrobrawler I've reported over 100 or 200 times, but with my level 3 miner, I've only reported 3 times, one which I got a "thank you" letter from Jagex.

 

 

 

It's all about luck I guess :P

I remember Frizoid saying that Jagex hardly looks at f2p reports, only p2p ones. I could be wrong though... :anxious:

Yes I know that, I understand whole idea of report abuse. But to make whole topic more simple, vote one out of these list:

 

 

 

1. Yes, it is worth it to report abuse because JAGeX is actually doing the job for the F2P.

 

2. No, it isn't worth it to report abuse because JAGeX isn't looking at F2P's reports.

 

3. Yes, they aren't looking at F2P's reports at all or rarely. Keep reporting anyway.

I've reported probably over 100 times and recieved so far 18 messages saying action has been taken on someone I've reported.

 

Yes it's true that Jagex look at much more Member reports than F2p (paying money does get service) but don't stop reporting people, like others have said, thousands of reports are made everyday and it is impossible to view them all.

 

 

 

Also I'm pretty sure that each rule you report for goes to a different department, for instance everyone knows that if you report somone for Macoring then it goes to a special team in Jagex which use different devices to detect it.

 

Offensive Language is probably the least likely to result in action taken because that is the offense reported the most.

 

 

 

From my experiance I think that Advertising (ie a macro site) results in the highest success rate.

I havent really kept track of the number of ppl i have reported, but i have gotten one message telling me they were taking action against someone i reported.

Keep reporting, it takes all of 3 seconds, and it could help the game be better.

of course they look at f2per reports i know two f2p mods personaly they jsut dont look at most offensive language reports from f2pers cuz its mostly noobs who report for stupid stuff they tend to take time looking at macroing reports thou because most macroers are f2p and hence on f2p worlds just keep reporting its not about the graditude its about stopping cheaters

I remember the very first time I reported someone (I was like lvl 3) I got a message from Jagex :) . And since then, I have only received a few messages. But that doesn't matter, just keep on reporting and improving the game!

Just play the game normally and try to report when you see offenses take place.

 

 

 

A handy tip for offensive language, do to the fact that you mentioned the new ability to replace a K with l{, make sure, before you report, that it is directed at someone, make sure to report when continuous, and if someone is being threatening, make sure you report for that too :)

 

 

 

Example:

 

 

 

no report: "ful{"

 

 

 

Report: "Ful{ you player1, I'm going to rip your head off!!@!$#!#oneoneeleven1!" :P I practice leet in my sleep..:P

The reason you don't see any "praise" from your reports is because Jagex needs several reports from a few players on the rule-breaker, and not just your own. I've received a message from Jagex saying that some action was taken against a rule-breaker, and I remember seeing 5-7 reporting this one person (who was swearing his head off :notalk:).

i some time get letters from jagex saying THANK YOU! but it doesn`t matter, i report for fun, man! hunting scammers, macroers nas people with offensive languajes and them report then is fun! i love report rule breakers because im mad so when i see an scammer i follow the game and them the all scared: "enjoy your report n00b".

Just keep reporting if it is necessary. You will be eventually recognized.

i've always gone to f2p worlds every once in a while to the mines south west of fally and the mining guild looking for autoers. but i cant report them cuz it says "u can only use that if someone has talked in a while" or something like that. if i cant report them. what good is it

They do not send in 'praise' for reports on macro or offensive language. I've reported billions and as long as something is done about it - i'm fine with that, I don't need a praise on reporting.

 

 

 

It is sad that they can't confirm that action is being placed on though, I send in a query about this the other day and I always get a message such that isn't personal or prioritized but that's only because they are really busy people.

 

 

 

However, you can keep up the good work and they might make you a player mod which comes with priority report, you will always be responded personally and your reports abuse (basically sending in a query in game) will be replied to.

 

 

 

Unfortunately - I'd have to say on average about 10% of non mods are ignored :? But what can we do about it?

 

 

 

--> And yes, there are millions of people playing runescape i'm sure they get millions of reports (some misused which is why we have to wait 60 seconds to report again unless your a mod lol). Jagex doesn't know what to look for in those millions and they only got about 2.5k player mods in game probably some not even active... So don't expect the best just because you send in a report.

 

 

 

Why do we send in a report? Do you want the macroer taking all your business with the yews - And please do not say they help the economy, yews have dropped to 240 ea and i use to sell them at 300 ea np. A kid a couple months ago (they posted in the updates to take a rest from rs one time) a 14 year old kid commit suicide over the game, I heard from being scammed etc... And do you remember that time you got scammed, I'm sure most if not all of us have been scammed at least once since we've started. Do you really want that to happen to somebody else? It felt pretty bad losing my first full set of rune to a scammer #-o . NEVER SAY REPORTING IS FOR MOD WANNA BEs, I say you report because it fealt bad when something bad happened to you, or if you know something bad will happen to somebody else.

 

 

 

Keep on reporting to get rid of the garbage though \ It really helps!

You report for macro - for the rest of the rules you can't.
