First attempt at digipaint. Feel free to point out how terrible it is and fine me for damages to your retinas.

You have the idea down godslayer.

I think the main problem is is that your retaining a lot from pixeling (obviously). I.E in a digi-paint you generaly want the edges to be smooth.

However, like I said you have the right idea of it. I'll wait for someone who knows what they are doing to crtique you.

edit: use the sudge tool a good bit. It helps a ton I find with blending in the colors.

"A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"

hmmm reminds me of Lincoln...anywho better than I think I could do, cause Ive never tried it out, but it looks good, except for the rough edges.

Abraham Lincoln? Looks funny. Pretty good for a beginner, but then again-I dont know art :P

Yup, smudge it. Looks good though even without, good use of colors. Once you figure out the tools involved with digipainting You'll have no problems. Personally, all I ever use is brushes eraser and smudge tool to do what I do. Nice throw together though.

Looks nothing like my interface. Also, the hand is probably a drag tool.

Looks good in your avatar but the big one brings out more transparenty stuff.

His right eye is discolored, hair needs highlights, some other stuff.

This is from Paint Shop Pro 7 it is called the retouch tool there and you have to set it to smudge in the tool options box :P

New sigzor^^

His nose...its...its overpowering the face!!!

His face looks really red too XD but the colours are well defined. Most of my digi-paintings are colour faded so I have to adjust the contrast before completion, just to help bring out those colours. XD Grr...

Anyways. You should try brushing the entire face first instead of concentrating on one area at a time. I did that once and it took forever...I actually went berserk one night and started brushing really quickly (madness I tell yah, madness!)...and then the next morning, I went back and calmly brushed in the details overtop the messiness from the night before. Check out the "varrock night thingy thread" - I included a frame by frame process.

P.S. I dont know what paint shop pro is like but for photoshop, I brush with an opaque brush. It blends colour better than smudging it with the smudge tool... :-s

P.S.S Godslayer, any similarity? lol face8zh.th.png
