October 30, 200619 yr Water is necessary to perform cellular respiration, a process in which cells take glucose (C6H12O6), water (H2O), and oxygen (O2) and break it down into energy in the form of ATP. Gasoline simply does not have the proper chemical configuration for the process and cannot be metabolized by your body. Biology class was fun :) If I were to take a popcorn kernel in a vaccuum completely devoid of gravity, and microwave it until it exploded, would the innards splatter over the walls of the container, or would it look somewhat like a regular piece of popcorn since the material was held in place somewhat by the microwaves?
