i was just wondering if any other pures out there have obtained the bone scepter, i have and it was damn hard with 1 pray and 1 defence

 

 

 

anyone else have it other than me? and dont you think its a bit ridiculous getting the final piece from the level 86s :-k i mean, it took me 3 hours and 200 lobbs and 30 fallador teleports to finally get it........all cus of the stupid ghosts interfering with my fights

11 Minutes... Not a record, but still too damn soon.

u think uve got problems! i spent 6 hours,600 kills of minitors and catablepoons things, 100 lobs, the 10k i got from the chests in the first place (not that i really care), and time i could hav been making money. luckily enough i earned 200k 2day so i'm fairly happy, and i did get the sceptor in the end.i also made a new freind and got 210000 or so xp down there.

Firstly, no need to bump after 10 minutes because you haven't got a reply. These aren't the fastest moving forums in the world.

 

 

 

The sceptre was a new update which wasn't supposed to be easy to get for everyone. It's nice to have a challenge which takes more than 1 load of lobs to get the reward. Pures aren't everything either, they are made for pking only right? So don't expect to have full advantages of the whole game.

pures can get them without a problem as well, all you have to do is to range them at a safe spot.

^indeed, the ankous can easily be ranged. Cetablepons can be a bit harder though.

i got the left skull half from my first kill :P

on my pure i only have 2 bottom pieces and 5 right skulls, combat 36 melee pure, hits 11 potted R scimmy but its harder for pures than for "mains" or "impures" because no def level(or only a few)

You didn't take the time to find out there were 72 ankous, so you fought level 86 ones. It's your fault, not jagex, and jagex certainly didn't bs you by releasing this huge update to f2p, learn to take some responsibility for your own actions :P

Whyd u waste all that to get the sceptre? you can only used it 5 times, and laws wud be much cheaper. And its not like ur a main and it wud be useful to have something cool to wield while training :!: :?:

My pure mage got it without any trouble. Just use Crumble Undead on the Ankous. :)

And yeah, my pure has it easily. Ranged the catablepons, and mage the ankou in the southern room.

I got the scepter with 6 lobsters and 6 anchovy pizzas, but my character isn't a pure... (lvl 63)

The Ankous sure are vulnerable to crumble undead - hits often, hits hard.

 

 

 

Only problem is that F2P Staff's can't autocast it (only the slayer staff can).

 

 

 

So to cover you for when you cannot attend to the spell screen, have your mage staff set to autocast someting else - a strike if you are really cheap, or a bolt with the same chaos runes, then just keep laying a couple of crumbles, back to inventory to eat, then if you don't get back to spell menu in time, the staff will autocast.

 

 

 

Knocked down 3 of them with my level 28 pure mage!

 

 

 

 

 

Now the Catablepons on the 3rd level, they are a real pain!

 

For the mage, they seem highly resistant to magic - spells miss often.

 

For melee, they have incredible weakening powers.

 

Maybe the combat triangle favours the ranger here.

 

 

 

While they do go down to level 49, not found if there are 49's that can be reached without too many of the "wrong" monsters.

 

 

 

 

 

Moving backwards to level 2, the Flesh crawlers seem weak in comparison to the other monsters, the high level zombies hit harder.

 

Limited success with trapping/blocking - I'd suggest if you melee, you take a few spells as well to select and lure a target, even popping one with a wind strike and missing should get its attention.

 

 

 

The first level has excellent cover, so going toe to toe is a waste of food.

safe spots? where are these safe spots? i havent found any safe spots to kill catlepons or ankous. catlepons are impossible to range sfely, because they can attack without being next to you. if youve found any (or anybody else), would you please post a screenshot?
