July 6, 200619 yr I always hear people saying... "Skill leveling up is to easy now" What made it harder back then?
July 6, 200619 yr Mining Especially, you had to use your pickaxe on the rocks everytime you mine, and you could also fail to mine, which then you have to use the pickaxe on it again, lather, rinse AND repeat. until desired level of the skill has been reached. Noting was also a pain in RSC too. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Noting was also a pain in RSC too. Did you actually ever play RSC? Or is this just what you've heard from other people? By the way I know back in 2001 you had to click pickaxe then rock, but the majority of the time RSC was around you didn't have to. How many runescape players does it take to change a lightbulb?50.1 to change the bulb and the other 49 to complain about how it was better before.THE MODS THERE ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER IDIOTS!So why are you here?

July 6, 200619 yr chen is right. it was so annoying to mine, fail, mine, fail UGH also, jagex has released a lot of updates that make lvling easier. Cook X and....and....other updates i suppose
July 6, 200619 yr 1. No auto cutting/fishing/mining. You had to click every time. 2. No running, making bank trips much longer for any skill or task (say.. Tanning hides, buying vials, etc.) 3. There were no bank notes, making trading materials like bones, bowstring, and other materials much more tedius and time consuming. Coal, lobsters and other items had to be "certed" in draynor to be able to trade large amounts at a time, then had to be "un-certed" to be able to use again. 4. Combat: There was only 1 weapon speed, you couldn't eat while fighting, and you had to fight atleast 3 rounds before you could run away. 5. Alchemy: You couldn't alch notes because they didn't exist so you had to alch a load then bank. Also, there was no runecrafting and runes were much more scarce than they are today. 6. There was no Smith X, Fletch X, Cook X, Craft X (or any other do x type of skills) you had to click each time. Those are a few. There are so many more... 136 Combat, 2290+ Skill Total
July 6, 200619 yr Couldn't use range in hand to hand combat. You could also fail magic spells. Oh and no "Smelt x" or "cook x" just constant clicking. Oh and no random events.

Edit - I think devilchild is right. I think I'll have to go back to RSC for a day to remember all this stuff. 136 Combat, 2290+ Skill Total

July 6, 200619 yr 1. No auto cutting/fishing/mining. You had to click every time. Then why is everyone complaining about autoers ruining RSC? BTW: played it once when I just got members, but switched bach to RS2 after 10 mins, so no RSC veteran here.... Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
July 6, 200619 yr Lobbie fishing was horrid...right click, left click...FAIL *dang* right click, left click...FAIL *dang again* and so on and so forth

BTW: played it once when I just got members, but switched bach to RS2 after 10 mins, so no RSC veteran here.... Im sure you can teach a program to click on the pick then click on the rock. But the biggest thing was that you could mine even when your inventory was full, the ore would just go on the ground. So an autoer could just stand in the same spot mining for hours nonstop. Z0mg look im so kool even mods tok to me.
July 6, 200619 yr paw when you failed in rsc you had to wait 20 seconds before you could cast again, which is much worse than splashing lol ^^sig by weeboab ^^

Today, when you click on a fishing spot, you just watch you char do all the fishing. Backthen, you had to click for everytime, same with mining and wcing. Lastfm

July 6, 200619 yr All the skills were harder to level, but the higher your skill it actually made a difference... Not like some of this bushleague stuff were level 41 miners beat level 80 miners... There was also 30 inventory squares instead of 28. However all your equiped stuff would be highlighted in red in your inventory. Help drive change Canada
July 6, 200619 yr Yes I did play RSC I was nvr big on ranging thou hence y I said I am fairly sure As for the magic failing thing It was posted "magic could fail in rsc" I wasn't saying it wasn't worse I was just pointing out it could also fail in rs, if you want to post saying magic fialing was worse due to a 20 second delay tht would be true But you can't say I am wrong for saying magic fails in rs as well when u jsut said magic could fail in rsc Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
July 6, 200619 yr There was this little thing called fatigue. #-o You gained a little bit of fatigue when you gain xp, and once you gain max fatigue points you dont gain any xp. July 6, 200619 yr Lol good old sleeping bags. Guides and tips on RS were no where as comprehensive as they are today. There wasn't a knowledge base, that Wise Person in Lumbridge, and no handy checklists for quests that would cross off the parts that you already did. Pking with melee was a little trickier too. If you were meleeing the guy, no matter what even if you had full armour and tons of food weighing you down, or nothing but a single wep, you couldn't run so there was no chance of fatiguing your opponent by chasing him down and catching up to him. Everyone moved at the same pace. (Knees also never bent  ) Even if you were a mage or ranger, there'd be little point in chasing your delicious money and item packed prey down because you'd have to stop and shoot at him eventually, giving him time to get away, making you have to chase him again, which of course would be pointless because you couldn't run. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
