Randoms grouped by activity?

I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but...The random events that I get seem to be (mostly) grouped by what I am doing at the time. And no, I'm not talking about stuff like the teleport matrix which can only happen when you teleport. Other ones too. When I used to fletch more often, I was getting sent to the maze several times a day. When I woodcut, I get the sandwich lady. Drunken dwarves come to me with refreshing beverage while I fight monsters, but never during a slayer task. If I am ranging Kurasks or turoths, I always get the gravedigger event. Genies pop up when i fish. And I get the evil bob event at barrows, but ONLY when I loot the chest. Anyone else notice anything like this?

its an ilusion ur mind plays on u.

u may get lots of sandwich laydays making it seem like a pattern but that is just a couincidence.

You should really learn to spell...

Did you know? Every day over 2000 people get pjed. Join the quest to end pjing forever by putting this in your sig.

I'll admit that's possible. Again, they're just my observations. I haven't exactly been watching for it either. So there's some room for error here.

I think the same. Whenever I go woodcutting I get frogs and whenever I go monster killing I get pinball things. MOM count - 167

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,

that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.

So we shall flow a river forth to Thee,

and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti.

these topics about randoms not actually being random are really starting to become even less pointless than they already were to begin with. look up the word random if you want to know why you're getting the sandwich lady all the time.

Arggh but mr hyde u r confirming that the fact there random, why is the mime the most uncommon? Considering there is around 15 (unsure) that i have an equal chance of getting the mime or avoiding the frogs?

There is no connection to a task and the event, but there is an obvious time or xp connection, It seems to be that after a certian amount of game time or xp earnt you recieve a radom event.. Unproven but..

Nothing in Runescape is completely Random... No matter what anyone suggests or thinks. And it amuses me everytime I see someone try to emphasis on the word "random".

The area in which lightning strike is random. The chances of getting a certain "random event" on runescape isn't. If the events were totally random... you would be able to get any random at any time (and that just isn't the case). The only thing random is when you get the random, which even that can sometimes be controlled (depending on what it is you're doing).

The thing is, some of the random events have no classification. That meaning they aren't specified for a specific skill (like the Shade is for burrying bones, the Troll is for fishing, and so on...). The "randoms" that aren't classified can literally pop up when you are doing anything (even standing/running). So that could explain why they seem so much more common. And since flething doesn't have any assigned randoms... you can basically get any random that isn't skill specific.

And the randoms, based on what I've seen and read are probably connected to a drop list similar to the NPC drops. Since it IS obvious that the Mime is rather rare.

Sorry for the babbling, hope I touched on everything I wanted to say.

Random events happen randomly you say??

Not true...

If you are training just alc something every 20 minutes.. You are almost gaurenteed a "Random"

And location does matter.

I got 4 Gravediggers at Firegiants in the Kara dragon dungeons. While burying bones.

3 ladderhosen dudes when Alc'n betwwen Mage tree resawns

2 mazes and 3 mimes while Alc'n items at Dagnoths

I believe that location does matter what type of Random you get.. This is not sayin you will ALWAYS get these randoms, but your chances are higher in certain locations..

Nothing official but did little tests and only been playing 3+ years

I was actually just about to make a topic on this, when I saw your post! Lately when I've been doing things, I've noticed patterns in my random events. I'll list them below.

Mini-Games: Never get random events

About to teleport from metal dragon cave: All different types

Killing Otherworldly Beings: Mime

Cooking in Rogues' Den: Mysterious Old Man

Killing Blue Dragons: Pete (?) The one where you have to light candles.

So far, I've noticed distinct patterns doing these things. I think we may be on to something!

If you go there good things will transpire.

I seem to only get Drunken Dwarfs when I'm training, but never Evil Chickens. I get Clothing events only when I'm fishing or cooking (well.... it makes sense... it's basiccally the only thing I do...)

I'm back?! No wayz!!!

I know 1 thing for sure and some of you may already know:

When you get a MOM a few things can happen:

- you get a gem or something

- he tps you somehwere

When your inventory is full.. you will get the maze! When it isn't full, you are getting a gem etc. When fletching, you are carying full inventorys always, so you always get mazes

When you don't talk or pick up loot, you have an increased chance of getting a MIME (mimes dont talk Kay?) :boohoo:

Yes, randomsare not TOTALY random.. we know they are all linked to something. #-o =D>

EDIT:

Some randoms are skill linked, as Big fish when fishing or rock golem when mining. Zombies or bone related randoms are only gotten when burying bones or killing monsters. So gravedigger.. you get it i hope..

Look at the random guild to learn alot \'
