Well, I finally got around to finishing an old sig. Here's my progress.

Here's what I've got so far.

ORIGINAL SIG BEFORE WORK WAS STARTED.

WORK DONE SO FAR.

THE TWO TOGETHER.

UPDATE 1: I've extended the path and created a cliff. Also notice the small beach and lake.

10mdoublemage4cp.gif

UPDATE 2: Extended water and I'm starting to develop a sort of inlet cove type of thing. I'm having GREAT difficulty trying to figure out how the cave will merge with the side of the mountain. I just can't get it right. Also, the arch of the cave looks strange...it's kind of an optical illusion. The right side of the cave actually just out and is 'closer' to us. The arch goes from this point, seemingling 'backwards' and then rejoining with the other side. I can't explain it really.

UPDATE 3: With some help from y0ur_m0ther, I was able to figure out the cave problem. I've also extended down the mountain and I'll be adding some outcropping and a forest. I'll finish the sky obviously. I think part of the forest is supposed to be in fire, too.

THE WHOLE SCENE SO FAR:

UPDATE 4: I've added a natural bridge which extends from the castle fortress to the island across the ocean inlet. I'll be adding trees to the light green area to the left of the pathway.

UPDATE 5: Well, I asked Godslayer what I should add to the background because it was really looking...bleh and empty. He suggested a path that led down the hill to a small peasant village which was being ambushed, burned, and pillaged by an attacking army. So I've added a path and extended it around the hill to join up with the other path...otherwise goods would not be able to reach the market \' . So I'll be working on the village.

FINISHED!! I added in a small village...even though most of it is covered up, it still takes up empty space. I textured the rest of the hill, fixed the sky, added some birds, added a PKer skull, and finally added a simple, but effective border. I hope you all like it :)

It was a challenge, especially since all of my backgrounds on my older sigs are, plain and simply put, terrible. I really had to delve into my imagination to come up with this and while I am still not satisfied with the characters, I like the background and, well, you guys will just have to deal with it :notalk: :P

Enjoy!

I can tell you wanted this finished, Jab. Well, like I've told you before, the characters pale in comparison to the background and whatnot. Excellent bg, not so excellent people.

Do a landscape next time.

Aah, way to go man, i was waiting for you to fini[cabbage] lols, im not gonna rate.

Keep it up =D>

The background is stunnig, very good job =D>

The skulled person is cool, love the vines.

Don't like the maging character that much, his arms seem too long or his head to small, or something :-k

I like it.. good way to imagine Entangle too.. looks uncomfortable :S

Duuuuuuude! :D I have no words for that, gj!

This was for a competition before sig selling was banned wasn't it?

Looks good I just think the staff looks a little wimpy. And your landscape looks great. Can't wait to see it done.

GODSLAYER IS A PIXEL BEAST!

Awesome work Jab. Great detail. The only thing bothering me has nothing to do with any of that, but with the coloring. Due to the characters being shaded and coloured in the same brightness as the background, they don't stand out as much as they should. And personally.. I think it would be be better with just the background, but that might be just me

"Do you really know me? I might be a God."

you've got the technique down good, tho what you lack is the contrast in the characters up front, mainly in there skin complection.

i dont think ill ever see the day when someone is pking in a phat outside of faldor... oh wait, i seem to remmember someone whipping in full ahrims and a green partyhat on 6-6-06? lol i wonder who.....

like everyone said before... people suck, landscape owns... and whats that bulging spot in between his legs? i hope thats a part of the pants.. #-o

wop wop

The background is amazing dude =D> excellent job. I like how u pictured entangle like someone else said. Its good man. Background is the best part though....wow

I completely agree. I really should had just kept it a full background sig, but oh well. As far as the contrast goes, I do have a great lack of knowledge when it comes to contrast, but also, the background was added months later, so I think that came into play a bit.

And wow, thanks for the nice feedback. I wasn't expecting two pages when I left...but now that I'm back from band camp (woohoo, yay band) I was pleasantly suprised. Thanks guys and gals.

Aye great work Jab. your castle is amazing, and although the people aren't as detailed, i like the idea of the bind. Superb
