Stop the mini flame war here..

What you don't understand is that we need more bankspace from all the updates that JAGeX gave us over the years. Removing bank space does not make people want to become members. In fact, it makes people quit which lowers the amount of potential members.

IAm314159: The need for bank space increases with each holiday special, random event update, SoS-like update, F2P tradeable treasure trail update, etc. If the bank seems crammed to you now, wait a few months when more items come out and the upcoming holiday item. :P The need for bankspace is now, before it gets any more crowded than it already is. 12 spaces is the perfect amount.. It's not too little, not too much. It's just enough to store your items with a little room to spare.

Its sooooooo easy for members to come flame and spew ignorance about how we're being greedy and that we should "just freakin pay the 5 bucks"

But heres something "new"

Not EVERYONE has a credit card (mostly in other countrys other than US and UK) so it'd cost them

Phone - $7 dollars a Month, $84 a year

SMS - $10 dollars a Month, $120 a year

Online Paying

Single Monthly Subscrictions - $7.95 (heck its $8 bucks ok?) a month

Full Year - $5.50 (US $65.95 total, charged in advance)

Not to mention, what RESPONSIBLE parent would be like "heck sure I'll pay $60/$84/$120/$$whatever$$ a year for you to play some online chat game! sounds great!!"

I'm happy my parents let me play still even after that new report about runescape have loads of predators.....anyways :-w

My point is: its not always "ONLY 5 BUCKS SHEESH!" and of course, f2p needs more bankspace!!

OK time for me to speak one such matters.

Before I start: shud- spelled should, wat- spelled what, u- spelled you, ne or ne way way- spelled any, anyway...Now that my spelling lesson is done for today, time to get down to business...

The first is on people, especially members, calling all F2P'ers greedy. ALL of the recent updates were not needed. There is really no use for the party room in F2P, since too many people just walk in on your party. Why do you think that they even gave us the Stronghold of Security? It was because too many new players and "noobs", didn't take to time to read the security information provided by Jagex, set up security devices and read up about different scams, so in turn they got scammed and lost their account and items. Jagex had to implement something fun in-game, so they created the Stronghold to "educate" others about RS security. Honestly when it first came out I did flock to see it and it was a little fun to kill some of the higher leveled monsters. But I hardly doubt anyone really learned much about security. I mean all the questions are too easy; you just pick the answer that sounds the most official and obvious. I mean that's what I did; I knew about security beforehand so it didn't matter. I just think that as Prankster_King stated, yes you can fit your stuff in the bank now, but in a few months or whatnot it's going to become too much for the normal F2Per to hold.

Secondly, I'm tired of the old freaking "F2P is a demo" and "just pay 5 bucks" ideas. There are too many items and people for it to be a demo. Name one game demo where there are at least if not more people that play the "demo" than the main game you pay for. Yes, I will agree that about 1 million of F2P'ers are marcoers and goldfarmers, but still my point stands. Now on to the money issue, as it's been addressed about 60 times. There are just too many reasons NOT to pay. Some are: the inability to pay, parental disapproval, not playing enough to warrant paying for it (that's mine) and the other many varied reasons.

SO PLEASE JUST STOP FLAMING THIS THREAD WITH ARGUMENTS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN SAID AND TAKEN DOWN. THERE IS A THREAD FOR FLAMING AND RANTING ABOUT THIS IDEA. I DON'T FEEL LIKE REPOSTING IT, AS I HAVE MULTIPLE TIMES, SO LOOK AT MY LONG REPLY ON PAGE 117 OF THIS THREAD.

PS- Purfishx, you're defending us and arguing against flamers. Why don't you just join the cause? I mean your thinking in the same mind frame that the supporters are in, so what would so bad about that? Please reconsider your stance in the supporting issue; the more support the better! :D

No, I'm saying that the longer Jagex waits, the more items F2P will have to store, and the larger the need for bankspace will grow. If they give us a "whopping" 12 spaces now, we'd be set for quite a while to store our items.

I do not quite agree. Although I do want more bank space, my current bank space, although cramp, is still able to hold ALL the items that I need for my daily RuneScape life. Note: I DO NOT KEEP ANY RANDOM EVENT ITEMS! THEY JUST WASTE SPACE!

This is only an opinion. If Jagex DOES give F2P new updates that REALLY require more bank space, I would GLADLY support the campaign with all my heart. Currently, as I have already said, I do have reservations on supporting, as my current amount of bank space is ENOUGH FOR NOW. NO RANDOM ITEMS. NO USELESS ITEMS. JUST MY ESSENTIALS.

My opinions are as such...

More F2P Bank Space is an understandable issue, as I have been F2P all the while in RuneScape ever since I started playing. Although I do admit that the current bank space is rather cramp, I would like to point out that even with the squeeze in bank space, I have been able to store all my required stuff in my bank. Here is a list of all my items to prove that it is possible:

1) GP

2 - 12) Runes (Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Mind, Body, Cosmic, Chaos, Nature, Law, Death)

13 - 14) Arrows (Bronze and Iron - I do not use Adamant or any others as I am not a PKer)

15 - 18) Staves (Air, Water, Earth, Fire)

19) Skull Sceptre (Teleport to Barbarian Village)

20 - 23) Ranged Armour (Coif, Green D'hide Body, Green D'hide Chaps, Green D'hide Vambraces)

24) Maple Shortbow (Ranged Weapon - DUH)

25) Rune Scimitar (My Preferred Melee Weapon)

26) Rune 2h Sword (For Shortbow-2h Combo)

27) Rune Mace (For Prayer Bonus)

28 - 31) Rune Armour (Rune Full Helm, Rune Platebody, Rune Platelegs, Rune Kiteshield)

32 - 34) Monk Attire (Monk Robe - top, Monk Robe - bottom, Holy Symbol)

35 - 38) Wizard Gear (Wizard Hat, Wizard Robe, Blue Skirt, Anti-dragon Shield)

39) Cape (yellow)

40 - 41) Amulets (Amulet of Magic, Amulet of Power)

42 - 43) Boots (Leather Boots, Fancy Boots)

44) Rune Pickaxe (Mining)

45) Rune Axe (Woodcutting)

46) Fly Fishing Rod (I do not keep feathers in my bank, I just kill chickens if I have the need to, and Lobster Pots and Harpoons I get from Gerrant at Port Sarim before I start fishing, if not then I throw them away)

47 - 51) Food (Kebabs, Trout, Salmons, Lobsters, Swordfish - ALL COOKED)

52 - 55) Runecrafting Supplies (Air Tiara, Earth Tiara, Mind Tiara, Body Tiara, I do not keep any Water or Fire Tiara as the Water Altar is too far from a bank, and I always use a Fire Staff for infinite Fire Runes)

56) Rune Essence (I keep 25 for Air Running)

57) Leather Vambraces (To complete Mage outfit)

58) Brass Key (Access to Edgeville Dungeon - Hill Giants Area)

59) Forgotten - WILL CHECK AND UPDATE

60) EMPTY CURRENTLY - To be filled by an Amulet of Strength when I get a higher Attack level

As you can see, the 60 bank slots are filled up perfectly with items of relevant value, althought I did not keep items relevant to certain skills (logs, ores, feathers) or any random event clothing. I also sold off anything I got from skilling, unless it was food. This proves that F2P Bank Space is not yet a very pressing matter.

BUT WHY THE CAMPAIGN FOR 12 MORE BANK SLOTS?

Answer: Greed. F2P Players, I do admit (as I am one myself) ARE getting greedier. Jagex has already added the SOS (Stronghold of Security, the Skull Sceptre, and now the Party Room. Although I say it would not hurt Jagex to give F2P more bank space, it is not wise to say that Jagex is not giving F2P players enough things to play with. Members may tell F2P players to just pay the US$5 and be gone with it, but there are a plethora of reasons why most F2P players do not sign up for membership.

1) Parents' disapproval of the game

2) Not being able to afford

3) There are already enough things to play with in F2P

4) It will get boring in P2P

5) F2P is enough

6) I do not have enough time to enjoy P2P

7) What's the whole point of signing up for membership when F2P is better

8) ETC.

There exist many other reasons why F2P players do not sign up for membership that I have not listed down yet. Thus, I conclude my argument: I do support the Campaign, but I still have reservations on such matters. F2P FOREVER!

It may be all and well for your uses, but what about the people who have a clan? They have an alternative set of armour in their bank for their clan.

Also, people keep their random event costumes because it is hard to get again.

Also, don't forget when you are a member, there is a better chance of getting hacked than if you are a non-member. I don't know why, but it is true.

I don't see the problem with adding another row or just filling in the last row of the bank. It would make all the difference for f2p skillers like myself. Perhaps maybe only for those people over a certain level? Maybe total 800-900 who have proven to be active members on the game. It's another incentive to play, and the active players get their much needed bankspace.

Ah, well there's the problem. Most people do keep their random event clothing. I myself have full camo, full lenderhosen, full frong prince, and full zombie in my bank. It's a bit stuffy in there... To me, as well as most people that keep random event clothing, the clothing symbolizes how long you've been playing Runescape. Some of them are so rare that you have to have been playing for quite some time to get the full set, like the Mime. If I ever see someone in full mime, I know they've probably been playing for a long time because of how rare that event is. I have yet to get any of the mime outfit, as I only have one of the emotes so far. Also, some of the outfits are actually fun to play in -- like the zombie and camo. Who doesn't like to run around in full zombie, following people and saying "Braaaiiiinnsss!!", just to freak them out. That's one of my favorite Runescape past times. :) And camo? It's tons of fun getting a group of people with full camo together, and going to do "assaults" on places like the Bandit Camp. It just adds to the fun of Runescape. Oh, and don't forget Lenderhosen... Fally pub, lenderhosen, lots of beer. That's a party right there. ::' Random event clothing is (in my opinion) one of the greatest aspects of F2P. It's not just about skilling for these... It's about having fun -- a key factor of Runescape that so many people have forgotten about.

A style change is no longer required. Just the color change. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to chnage your hair to white... It's not going to break your bank. ::'
