I use my rune defender for slayer, because bones to peaches give me 8 hp to spare per monster, so I don't have to be really strict about defensive stats, and you get faster kills with rune defender,

But In Dualing If Armor Is Off And All U Have Is Sheild Spot

I range mainly so whenever I pull out the good old melee stuff its usually against some week monster like rockslugs or something that I wouldnt range. So the obby shield is complety unnessessary in those cases. All I want is the high hits and faster kills, which the defender specializes in.

Defender in all cases except for when you need RANGE defense. If you need range def, use obby. If you dont, use defender.

It takes about 2 hours to get a rune defender if you do it right..I did it that way, Mithril, addamant and rune came all in 20 minutes.

Rune defender is far superior. I sold my obby shield the day that I got one (10). It's price will keep dropping like a stone.

 

 

 

If you need defense there are far superior alternatives. If you need offense then there is nothing better. Splitting your goals is pointless and less efficient.

 

 

 

D square or (yuck) rune kite for melee defense.

well lets see, Obby sheild gives +20 def bonus, and costs a bit which can give a bit of "status" to the item, on the other hand rune defender looks awesome, and is free ( aside from a few tokens)..... For pking I would say defenders, but seeing as I did not pk much on my main I will have to go with obby sheild.

Definitely Rune defender, keep a few spare in the bank though, so if you lose em you can jsut grab another.

 

Theyre free and the attack bonus is worth it, you kill your opponents faster so you should take less damage on the whole

The rune defender is better for training on low-level monsters, but for the harder hitting monsters obby shield is better.

Rune defender for fighting in wild..And for fighting monsters, since you can just eat.

 

 

 

Obby shield for fighting in duel arena..Since food's usually off you'll need defence, in order to last longer.
