Black Mask = Poor man's Verac or better yet?

As you know, Jagex released some time ago the Black Mask, that gives some permanent bonus while fighting a slayer task, what I was wondering is :

 

KQ can be considered the same as the kalphite workers for the slayer?

 

 

 

If it is,i think it could be some huge bonus to have while fighting her...i hve no idea how effective can this be or even if it is doable, could anyone try this and see if its better than verac set itself or at least comparable to it?

There is no reason why it would not work.

 

An as it is easy to get them as task via some burthorpe trips, KQ loversknows what to do :)

That's actually good thinking, but I doubt a 15% bonus to attack and strength would be as good as a garuanteed good hit one out of five times.

 

 

 

Still, if you don't have Verac's it's probably a good thing to bring along :

Since Veracs set effect would not work with a black mask, I would reccomend not doing this.

Definately not better than veracs for kq as it means you can't hit through the kq's prayer/defences which means you get owned.

it does =) which means that you now have anoither item besides veracs that owns KQ, although you would need to get that slayer task first to use its effect...

That's actually a great thought, although it's too bad you can't use Verac's anymore when your wearing a Black mask.

the first forum dies pretty quickly but the mask would be a help on it, the second form it would be useless, but probaly worth more then a shark is there

Go down with Full V - Black mask - Rune Defender - DDS - Whip

 

((Yes if you get owned, your buddy better get your schtuff))

 

 

 

First form - Super Pot, wear Black mask - rune defender - DDS special full bar, switch to whip.. 2nd form switch to full V and own..

 

 

 

This should save you 2 to 3 sharks on first form and possible let you stick around for 1 more spawn... If you don't already

When I get a Kalphite Task I usually do a few Queens, and I just use the Black Mask when doing Special Attacks =).

Ive done this, it works really well against the kq with whip and rune defender. Its a powerful combo, i have veracs helm and flail in inventory for second form though.

I've done this also. It rocks on the first form. Veracs set effect isn't really needed for first form, since her defense is mage/range.

 

 

 

Gotta switch to full verac for second form, though. But yes, it definitely works.

I soled it a few times using the mask, whip, defender, dharoks armour, rune boots, fury, and fire cape.

 

The only time I've ever taken one out in one trip was done this way.

 

I had 3 sharks left at the end too. :D

 

You can hit the second form with the whip and this.

 

Its prayer is just really high defense and your amped up stats are almost enough to handle it.

 

The one time I got it in one trip, I got lucky and strung together a bunch of 40s+ on the second form.

 

However, on further attempts, I hit lots and lots of zeros inbetween 40s and couldnt repeat the one trip wonder.

 

Overall, I think veracs is more reliable on the second form.

Hmmm I need to try my black mask out at the kalphite queen next time i go. A mixture of Black mask for the first form and veracs for the second would be good.

range w/ top shootin gear is more effective on 2nd form than veracs :P through my exp.

i tired it out with ma mate, he's 107, i'm 101 and i got the kill like 40% of the times. on the first form i hit more and on second (wich i meleed too, works good) he mostly hit more because of the veracs set effect.

With black mask u would then have to hit through prayer, as apposing to not having to do that with veracs.. i'd stick with veracs
