Kill count at barrows.. high or low?

Since some people say getting a higher kill count at barrows gives you an increased chance of getting a barrows item and more runes and coins, I wanted to test it out and get a really high kill count at barrows. So i got my kill count up to 666, I killed all the brothers, (I even had 2 guthans in tunnels) and mostly killed bloodworms to get my kill count up.

I open the chest and I get...

<.< yay... lucky me.

Oh well, I did advance a defence level, attack level, hp level, and combat level while I was there. \'

I think the kill count number I chose to stop at jinxed it :P

So, does getting your kill count up at barrows work? (maybe i went a little too high.. lol) or should I just stick with killing the brothers?

Do 100 runs with 6 kc and 100 runs with 666 kc. One run really isn't enough to tell... It's all chance.

And it would be 1/111 of the time to get the 6kc, thus you can open the chest 111 times, which would be more money.

Just get 10-30 KC.

someone went to 9999 twice and got like the same as u got

Oh yeah, that was amazing, she (or was it he?) had so much patience to do it twice... .

And it's funny too, the Kill Count said it was Too Much.

EDIT: My opinion is to get low kill counts, since in the time you had 666 kills, you could've made like 60 more trips.

Doraemon FTW! =)

I agree, me personally, never get over 15 kill count.

That's just me.

Does anyone happen to know death_siren? She stole a green mask from me, and I think I found my way into her ignore list. If you know anything, please, don't hesitate to give me a pm.

Since I play in world 77 I always get my kill count to 16.

You know, because the sum of the two digits in the number 16 is 7 ..

Speed Barrowing: 6-10

Regular Barrowing: 15 (good runes, and it doesn't slow you down too much).

20-30 IMO is a waste of valuable time; it slows you down to much for only slightly better runes then 15KC (from what I've seen with other tests 15KC gives about the same reward in runes as about 25).

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I have done a 100 runs on each 6kc, 10kc, and 20kc. While there was a notable difference between 6kc and 10kc (you can't get racks and bloods for example with a 6kc) there was no notable difference in barrow's item rewards. I do 10-20kc now. Great speed and great runes. Anything over 30 is pointless and 20-30 is probably a waste as well. More runs = more items, period. I just kill what gets in my way and end up with a 10-20kc which nets me an item about 1 in 22 runs. With guthans, dart, and a prayer outfit I make a profit from the chest, even without an item, over the long run.

First of all, have a look at Satenzas experiment when it's completed. Secondly the knowledge base says (that or a J mod confirmed) that 20-30 gives the best chances of receiving an item, and that anything over 30 is all the same chance as you had before getting your kill count up...so...6. Most people go for 15 though, I either do 6 for speed or go all the way to 30, but make sure never to excede 30! And next time use the search tool, there have been hundreds of posts about this.

Yeah, same as RAHK, I just kill the monster that spawns every time I open the door.

Always have 10+, sometimes goes as high as 20, but it's pointless going higher than 30.

Edit: 1989th post, the same year as I was born in :D *doesn't make any more posts*
